A new thread for a new week, with the burning question 'Is winter going to make its entrance?' on everyone's lips!

There's some hope that the next few days will see Tom's Snow Depth Cup began in earnest, so please carry on your weather related banter and musings here Posted Image

We are quite lucky I think that this storm has come to very little here today. Flood Warnings and Alerts no longer in force round here. And as much as I would love snow I don't envisage a huge snow dump this side of the year.

I've just been out for the past hour or so, surely it's far too warm for snow?

7c here

Obviously it should cool down somewhat tonight even with cloud cover, I heard someone in the MOD thread a few days ago saying that we will see a colder back edge to the precipitation, which will turn the rain to sleet or snow.

Pretty rare I heard

Hasn't stopped raining since I posted this morning.  I need to take the dog out sometime in the next 2 hours, so thought I'd check for updates here, and look at the radar on Rain Today.  Who'd have thought a dog walk would need such strategic planning.

Hi folks, I just thought I'd share possibly the most dramatic picture from yesterday's storm which was posted to me by one of my followers on my weather page.

"Hi

Just thought I would share with you the devastation that the squall line left behind yesterday in East Sussex. This is a picture of what is left of my Dads car after a freak gust of wind brought down a tree on his motor, miraculously my Dad was able to scrabble out of the wreckage with just cuts and bruises but it could have been a whole different story."
