Just a quick question, can the weather updates in every single new page of thread be turned off? Don't mind it being on the first page but it's clashing with my OCD Posted Image Please :)

EDIT : Urg it's even on my post Posted Image

Argh it's irritating me too. Like a brightly coloured flashing off topic post changing every 2 seconds on every page, makes me dizzy when trying to read a post.

Perhaps it can be limited to just the first page of every thread? or allow users to turn it off in profile options.

I think it's hardly noticeable to be honest...

Can't see anything, perhaps because I use Flashblock?

Yep, it is quite subtle - although I'm hoping it's not even a minor irritation and is actually quite useful. But anyway. we'll see how it goes - if the general consensus is that it's a problem then we can remove/change it :)

Paul, it doesn't need removing I do like it. But is there any chance it can be restricted to the main thread and not every single page? :)

Technically that's quite difficult I'm afraid + with so many ongoing large thread that would greatly reduce its usage and visibility so would kind of defeat the purpose. It's in as a trial currently, so we can see how it goes, how much people do or don't like it and then take it from there Posted Image

It is fine with me, it is not invasive and serves as a quick click link should it be needed/wanted

It's much better now the coloured background is gone, not an issue now.

It's better

Can it be blocked with any adblock or flash blockers?

Having OCD is such a **** :(

This is getting worse, these awful pop ups on bottom right of homepage, where threads are, any chance of turning them off?

Oh, the recommended content box with links to other parts of the site? That's actually been running across the site for 3 or 4 months now! But anyway, I've switched it off on the homepage as it's probably not needed on there - we've had good feedback on them as it goes Posted Image

Oh, that's new but it's user activated - so if you mouse over or click  the arrow on the right it slides out - it doesn't come out automatically.

Yep, the one at the bottom does when you scroll down the page, but from what I've heard most people find it useful rather than annoying as these aren't ads or anything, they're just showing content on the site you may be interested in Posted Image

Can we please make the weather updates turn offable in our options?
