Davis Vantage Vue Help

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

I wonder if someone could help me a little please, I have just got a Davis Vantage Vue weather Station for Christmas and I erected it outside yesterday (baptism of fire here on the Isle of Man).

Can anyone tell me how to correctly set the - (minus) on my latitude and longtitude settings in the console, it should read

Lattitude 54.3

Longtitude -4.5 but I cannot set the minus!

I think by not setting this correctly it has thrown all my Sunrise and Set times out of sync.

Thanks for any help.

Peter

Hi Peter

I am also in the IOM and would be interested to hear if you are happy with your new Davis Vantage Vue. I am considering one to replace a wrm200 which simply cannot cope with the wind and replacement anemometers are around £80

Thanks. Ian

Hi, I recently purchased a Davis Vantage Vue  UK model  6531 and the weatherlink software with data logger 6510 usb,

My Question if any one can help is do I need to purchase another Data logger With ethernet to be able to put my weather on the weatherlink page .

I was a bit disappointed there was no ethernet connection or cable in my software .

I am just a newbie to the Davis and have had no problem in the setting up the vue and seems quite simple to understand and have it working with cumulous and weather display and weatherlink .(not at the same time though).

Any help would be gratefully received , I really don't want to have to buy another logger as you will all be aware is very expensive,

I'd use Cumulus or WD to upload to Wunderground and not worry about the Weatherlink at all.I think I only ran the program once when I first got it!You don't actually need it at all but it comes with the hideously expensive data logger anyway - in an attempt to make it seem better value I guess. You will soon need to decide on one software or the other. To be fair Weatherlink has a long history so the record file type will always be recognised -and you can also upload to wunderground with some kind of add on I think?Cumulus is fine and does have a big following and a helpful support forum.WD is probably the most capable of all and allows a great range of future customising options. It is almost too clever - there are so many options it is difficult to understand most of it at first, and most users will not use the majority of features.

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
