Just to put the mockers on any snow whatsoever this winter, can I join the measuring team on behalf of Braintree (who's snowshield is that good it seems to be covering the whole of the country for the whole of winter up until now!)

Perhaps we should start a rain depth cup (or bucket!)

Just to cheer everyone up, is there any way I can get the accumulated rainfall since Christmas (tried the MetO - no dice) and turn it into snow depth?

Isn't 1cm rain = 1 metre of snow

Got a feeling it would be over my husband's head (he's 6 foot) by now... Well we can dream Posted Image

Think 1cm rain would equal 10 cm of snow Shoulda taken a picture of the hail yesterday Woulda had this sewn up by now.

Now then, on fees, I note I am still awaiting payment for my previous work and whilst one doesn't like to bring up the subject of money (cash, lucre, folding, readies, whatever you want to call it) but this year it is 'sue one, get one free' so I'm sure you'll see your way to putting me in funds old chaps?  Plus the £1000 for this piece of work (Copyright Law, dashed complicated and hence, I am sorry to say, rather expensive)

Oh yesss! This brings it all back to me - my days as a freelancer.

One company had owed me £725.00 for work carried out the previous August 1991 - as I had to fly to New York in April 1992 in a week, my brilliant old Dad went and sat in their reception for 3 hours, waiting for their managing director to sign the cheque in payment. He wouldn't shift even thought the receptionist was getting rather annoyed - but I got my money.

Meanwhile back at the (soggy, grey, miserable) ranch... here is what Jewel Lake looks like at 8:52 am right now their time (temperature -12C).

Jewel Lake is in British Colombia Canada and God willing I'm going to be living there in the few years. enjoy.

Just a thought, I woke up to wet snow Thursday morning, just on the car, not much but it was there, does that count?

Just cant see any way of getting a cold blast now. Its as if someone has gone to screwfix and drilled the PV down! Just has not moved all winter. And with the US being buried in snow and causing a great temperature contrast with the warm gulf air exiting into the Atlantic, it is just going to spin up low after low after low after low after low after low after low.... I could go on forever!

Mmm interesting, but after enforcing the -1 cm handicap for one of the most northerly locations in the region, sorry no deal! Posted Image

That was Chris's rule, sorry!

Sounds like the snow could be a non event for London as usual, but better north of Watford. What's north of Watford, never ventured that far into the wilderness?Posted Image
