V4 Radar not working GFS chart viewer not working in NW Extra

V4 doesn't load V6 shows the map but no weather which maybe right. However clicking on the radar image on V6 doesn't do anything.

GFS chart viewer doesn't load any images bar a link which says unable to establish a connection to server nwstaic.

Same for nmm as well.

Not seeing any of those problems here TP and none of our external monitoring is flagging up issues, please can you open cmd in windows and type the command tracert nwstatic.co.uk then paste in the results to here?

Started working again on it's own so guess it was a server glitch.

16 day extra detail showing yesterday evening, plus the following message "Updated using the 18Z Run on Sunday 17th November 01:25:00" which is rather odd as the 18Z hasn't happened yet! Looks like it hasn't updates since yesterday's 18Z.

Same problem this morning. The problem seems to be that nwstatic doesn't like vpn. Everything else working fine.

Nwstatic itself isn't the issue though as that server is up and accessible with no issues showing on any of the external monitoring we do, the issue is in the connectivity between your vpn and the server, which is not something we can control unfortunately. The most likely people to be able deal with that with are your vpn provider, but please send over the traceroute/tracert into nwstatic.co.uk that I asked for before because that will give info on where in the network the problem is.

It's something to do with how your server see's the ip address. I suspect the problem is that your server see's the ip address change and then gets confused. The problem has only occurred in the last few weeks. Doesn't also the nwstatic have a role on the main forums as well I'm sure I've seen that pop up before while loading pages and the forums were working fine.

I'm pretty sure it's not server related, but a traceroute is the only way to confirm that. and no that server doesn't serve anything on the forums

Just checked with our network manager and there hasn't been any changes at this end in the last two weeks.

The fault isn't likely to lie in the internal networking there, it's much more likely to be somewhere on the route from there to the server, and likewise the server hasn't been changed in the last couple of weeks either. As I say though, it's only a network trace which will allow any diagnosis. If you'd rather not put it on the forum, please email it over to team[at]netweather.tv.

Ahh replicated it.

If I logged in and then fire up vpn I get the nwstatic error .

If I start vpn and then login I don't have a problem.

I still get the same error even if I use Chrome in Incognito mode.

So nwstatic is having a problem with a change of ipaddress

 

Trace doesn't show anything wrong.

 

I suspect there's security set on the firewall so people with dualwan may have the same problem when sticky sessions don't work properly.

I don't think that's an error TP, it's your login session expiring as you are removing cookies/changing details once logged in - the trace is showing the server responds ok, if you log out and back in again it'll work fine

Well the last few days it's gone back to working the way it used to do. Doesn't matter if I fire vpn up in the middle of the session or not.
