Well, well, well - thunderstorms in December. Definitely some good sferic returns moving out of the IOM into Cumbria and a load more across the Irish Sea moving into western Wales.

I have my doubts of much sferic activity surviving very far inland but certainly could be some powerful convective gusts, torrential rain and hail as the system moves through.

Sheffield shield opens one sleepy eye looking west. Will I Will I it mutters. It yawns then turns over and rests again.

We kinda have lift off here...nothing electrical as yet but pretty rough as per forecasts. Hail mixed in with large drops pounding now.

As T storms goes the front is dead. Nothing now on my bolteks or netweather. Shield beginning to shred.

Southport looking rather tasty...Worst over here, shortlived but with some quite powerful gusts - moving at a fair rate of knots too.

Not tasty here, half an hour of heavy rain with a few very strong wind gusts, dry now.

Serious disruption across Cumbria following the earlier severe weather!

Some quite severe convective gusts blowing across my area (Stanwell) this associated with the heavy rain band, down towards Portsmouth area particularly intense cells that are thundery,  looking at lightning strike radar one has appeared over Fareham area Hampshire.
