The humidity and thickness of the air up here has increased - really humid feeling now air feels almost wet in Middlesbrough this afternoon.

Need all this cloud to shift now and let the sun do it's work.  Pretty dank and miserable here.

NMM Total total index pans out like this for the next few hours:

However given the conditions and fast moving nature of things today, it may just be best to stick to radar!

Wise words! The atmosphere is so unstable ATM showers could pop up almost anywhere.

Need the storms coming out of northern france across the channel to move due north if they're going to affect the SE and the E/NE of England.

Only using the met radar on my phone but they seem to be moving NE and look like going into the North Sea Posted Image.

No surprise there then....

Small thunderstorm rolled through MK just after 11am, heard maybe 5 rumbles and couple of louder booms. Moved off to the NE in the last hour, sky is now completely clear and the temperature is rocketing 4'c in the last hour. Hoping for a good home grown later on as the atmosphere is still potent, like walking through soup.

After a busy morning we and now entering a quite period for the rain less and less showing now for England and wales what is in the east is moving out into the north sea and nothing is following behind it so the worst of the storms for most of us are now coming to an end and if you didn't catch one the wait goes on

Certainly the end for a good while now some more thunderstorms may pop us this evening but the radar is looking quite now with nothing brewing in the west or south
