A new thread to discuss potential and current convective weather in the UK.

As it looks likely that at least some of the regions will see some storms in the next few hours/days, it's pretty important to try and keep on topic in this fast-flowing thread at such a busy time, if you find your post has gone, you'll understand why!

everything does look to be slightly further north and west of course I'm no expert and the delay seem to tie with my new met office forecast not through the night but now through tomorrow morning

Just stepped outside for the first time today and can safely say it's 'Daily Express Tropical' heat, just to the NW of Birmingham at present near the border with Warks.

Can confirm a scattering of small mid-level "towers" around S.W London. Plenty of work to do yet though!

The one good thing to take from that would be we get another hot sunny day before hopefully giving a great light show during the night :)

Agree - looking west from Camden, nothing that exciting...

Just got back from work, my god it is HOT!

Seems like I'm seeing convergence over our area at the minute, hopefully this will lead to something interesting soon. In the meantime, there is a cell exploded over Northern France unleashing 200mm/hr+ rainfall and a crazy lightning rate too!! Looks insane. Come to Daddy !

Get the feeling this is going to be a let down here, maybe  the odd distant flash or two tonight if very very lucky,

As for tomorrow I am hoping for more in the way of hearing thunder , but again not getting hopes up this time

Sky is rapidly filling with bubbling AcCas now some of which appear to be towering to the south of MK over towards the Chilterns.

Really surprised that there has not been more of that today.
