Ages yet, reservoirs are at the levels they should be at this time of year, groundwater levels are normal too.

Yes indeed, not a single drop for weeks - thunderstorms, should they materialise usually drop a lot of precipitation in a short space of time, whilst better than nothing, isn't always enough to fill any void.

Another gloriously hot day in the heartlands, less cloud, going to sizzle into this afternoon and evening. Chances are increasing that we'll be talking about this Summer for quite so time, not unlike Spring 2013 :)

Enjoy if it's your thing, bare with it if not, more importantly keep an eye for the elderly more vulnerable folk. A friendly visit and hello may go a long long way, time well spent :)

Reservoir storage across the region has generally dropped,But is at a very healthy state,The four reservoirs, the Derwent group, Tittesworth, Blithfield and Charnwod group, are now below 80% full with Tittesworth dropping to just below 70% full.
Groundwater Levels or so called Groundwater remains in a healthy and stable situation. All sites are recording ‘normal’ levels or higher for the time of year.

So regarding Hosepipe bans.....NO CHANCE of that happening this summer.Posted Image

Currently 23.6c but for some reason it feels much warmer this morning compared to the past few days, presumably the humidity is higher.

Oh it must reach 30c here today and tomorrow!!!

But disappointed by the earlier breakdown some models are now showing but it's been good. Just hope the CFS never materialises as August will be wet and very cool otherwise! Thankfully a common trait in the models is to raise heights over Greenland but these seem to never materialise this year!

And yes it does, The sunshine seems stronger to me because yesterday morning was more hazy with that high cloud coming and going, But not today !! Look up blue is the word Posted Image

Still "only" 25.9c outside, but if I were guessing the temperature I'd say it was pushing 30c.............maybe it will later this afternoon, still another four or five hours of heating to come :)

Tommorrow temps will exceed 30c in places and it will feel 30+ as humidity increases, But that's nothing compared to next week if  Mon, Tue, Wed comes off Posted Image

I mean with talk of  tommorrows temp of 30+ but with the charts only showing 27c-28c if you look at the temps on these charts you could add 2 or 3 degs on em... SCARY !!!!Posted Image

With temperatures this hot, there's only one place to shelter at lunchtime - the refrigerated section of the food hall in Solihull Marks & Spencer...............truly heaven on earth.

Yes that's very true. The new feature on the Monkspath weather station website proves your point - a summary of the current temperature readings from all surrounding weather stations in the area. It currently shows variations between 26c and 31c for our region.
