Just took a measure as the snow seems to be stopping now and the 6" ruler wasn't long enough!

The light rain has started and with that I proclaim this cold (ish) spell over! Glad it went with a memorable bang.

Around 18cm on the ground now, fantastic!

Time to watch it fade away come the morning when all the excited kids wake up now!

Whats it like round the Old Trafford area of Manchester? Going to the united game tomorrow...any risk of it being called off?

No chance, there is a total of 26 miles of heating pipes underneath the Old Trafford Pitch (fact). :p

Snow should thaw tomorrow in Trafford as we head through the day;

Also, let's hope for a win for the reds!

Calling it a night, want to be up early tomorrow to make the most of this temporary snow cover while it lasts

Ps if the Oldham v Liverpool Facebook cup was tomorrow and not Sunday I think it would have been at risk of being called off

bare in mind football matches can be called off for dangerous conditions outside of the ground. it's not all about the pitch as I know only too well.

Hehehe it should be alright as I say especially down in the City the thaw should be pretty noticeable.

Interestingly, in 11 years of going to OT every home game, never has a game been called off

Know it well, my job brings me into contact with a few of the GP practices on that road.

I reckon there may be a few off tomorrow , including my beloved EFC at Bolton, reckon my sons RL game on Sunday could be called off with a waterlogged pitch once all this snow starts to melt +rainfall

You mention Oldham, I do have a soft spot for them being it my home town and also I live there .. :p

Used to go to watch the Latics end of 90's/early 00's but now I've got a season ticket somewhere else :p

Tbh though, Boundary Park in my opinion is one of the most traditional old fashioned grounds in the country
