When I left home at 6:30 am the weather station was reading -5.1c. At the top of Reigate Hill, 100m higher, and barely a mile away as the frozen crow flies, it was 0c according to the car. That's quite some difference - presumably a temperature inversion? (unless the readings were out on one or both of course)

-8.3 at 2am at Charlwood...

Currently -5.5 with a -6 dew point!

Morning all-

so pretty close then to -10 last night....

The GFS has trended a bit further NE with the front over night- the HD chart which is clearer-

http://91.121.16.5/modeles_gfs/runs/2013012200/21-779.GIF?22-0 which is good-

http://91.121.16.5/modeles_gfs/runs/2013012200/27-778.GIF?22-0 dewpoints suggesting a bit of marginality for kent & rain for the coast.

Maybe a lucky strike tonight & an outside chance of a light thames streamer over the next couple of days - **LIGHT**

That would be immense - would be a snow on snow on snow event here. Last seen in London 1987?! Could someone confirm?

Although the band has moved further East than i originally thought it looks like those from SW London Westwards will be in the firing line.Yet again,Surrey seems to be in with a good chance so good luck to all you people over there, although i think the main belt will be a little further West and North so North Hampshire Northwards look goodgood.gif .If only the belt would move another 20 miles West that would be grand. One more top up before milder weather comes in by Saturday would do me.

Temp got down to -4.7 here last night in Petts Wood/Locksbottom borders with Temp now -1.8(rising fairly steadily!!)

Hi Steve - was that in west London though? You may be right but I don't recall a treble then (in my location).

Was -8.6c when I left the house at 7am this morning.

The air was so fresh though, perfect with snow on the ground.

Hoping for a wee top up later - a couple more centimeters would be great! :)

I reckon we are about an even money shot to score some more tonight looking at those charts. Interesting times...

We've got the 06z run coming out shortly, but I think they will only show some very approximate stuff. Radar today then lampposts.

Morning all,

Feeling lucky today & having a look at a few charts & various forecasts I'm confident of seeing a few cms today maybe more sw london looks firm fav over the next two days chances of a band spreading north & a outside of a streamer setting up.

All eyes to the radar me feel's.

Good grief... Huge temp rise this morning... Currently 0.2 in Reigate! Snow falling from trees!

Blimey, if it carries on at that rate we''ll be in shorts and shades later! Hopefully it will level off at that, otherwise any preciptation later will definitely not be of the white type.....

Some very close matches above. Got to give a special mention to my home town, a storming 2nd half performance from all the Bromley teams. clapping.gif

Cheers,
