I've endured some pretty depressing cold spells in my 8 years on NW, but this one is right up there. It isn't even cold for a start. Snow has been downgraded more times than Greece's credit rating. Disappointing but I'm keeping the faith for later in the week.

My thoughts for the london area and west for this coming week and tbh its grim if its snow your after.

Monday : Light snow to affect the London areas throughout the early hours of Monday morning perhaps a light dusting. Into late morning & early afternoon a band of rain & sleet to push through may be a bit of back edge snow but no setting snow.

Tuesday : A cold and possibly icy start to the day with perhaps a few flurries passing through in the afternoon but no orgainized showers hence no snow on the ground.

To be honest you can say that into wednesday there will be little change if any compared to tuesday however we know how much can change in a short time when dealing with snow.

That's my forecast on how i see things going forward. Bleak i know but plenty of time for changes.

Disagree London-Snow

I think tomorrow will be all snow except on the coasts, 5-10cm throughout, maybe 15 in sweet spots

I also predict a Thames streamer before the week is out

That happens I will be asking you for the lotto numbers!

If you are talking outside of our region further North I would agree though.

If you run the radar through, the PPN to our North is making much more of a Southerly track now, and intensifying slightly

It's been snowing lightly here in North Kent for about an hour. It's not heavy but slowly starting to turn the rooftops white.

Lol I am quite high up in Leigh On Sea at 76 mtres asl and can see the orange glow across the water, Sheerness is just a tad east of Saaarfend, amazing the snowline is so close!

Good luck to you, always knew SE Essex would miss by millimetres tonight!

Probably already been said here, but wasn't this always going to be a precursor to the main cold event stirred up by the SSW? Disappointing downgrades (why do charts always seem to downgrade this winter; rarely the other way round with cold spells isn't it) but plenty of cold pronged with the jet forecast to be held at bay for longer, so let's keep the faith.

I will have what your drinking...

Your predicting this on hope !

I on the other hand am predicting based on evidence in the form of charts and data collected.

I know which forecast I'd believe.

Hope i am wrong though !

For most in the midlands things have improved alot over the past hour. If things continue n head south east U might all be in for a bit of a surprise

But will it fizzle out as it reaches London and SE. It's threatened to make inroads into our area in the last two hours, but hasn't made much progress since?
