A LP like that undercutting the cold pool would kill us.

Who wants to live forever and if I'm gonna go out, let me go out buried in feet of snow ;) lol

The trend from tonight's output so far is for a cold week ahead with low night time minima.

Then the trend is for an Atlantic attack and a battleground scenario on Friday. That's all we can take from tonight's output regarding the end of the week at this stage.

There are 4 GFS runs a day, 5 days. You will get crap runs and you will get good runs, take no notice of detail by either, just look at the trend.

Do not react to every GFS run or you will have mental breakdown!!

Reliable timeframe and it remains cold, thats the main thing for now.

Spot on as ever AWD. good.gif

4 runs with DIFFERING input, producing DIFFERENT RESULTS. The key, as John Holmes often states is to follow the "like for like" runs, in order to determine the trend. The last three 12z ensembles from the GEFS 12z, complete with added balloon data have been some of our best output to date.

Just as this post from myself suggested, last Friday, so nothing has changed in the meanwhile.

Actually its T120. blum.gifblum.gif

But yeah, wouldn't get too excited about it. It's just eye candy that probably won't verify.

Na, It wont.

Tbh, 5 days ago, Last night, Today and tomorrow looks amazing. Now ... Its not much at all.

I expect Friday to fizzle away an dnothing happen.

Over 24 hours of heavy snow. It probably won't verify, but imagine, just imagine if it did.

Meant to be travelling to Dartmouth on Friday morning - gulp!

Have u seen the latest ukmo chart for Friday? '79-style blizzard forecast! Gulp...again!

Yeah, that's what makes it a tad more interesting. If the ECM shows something similiar too then it will make us ponder if nothing else.

Still, miles away yet to get too excited.

Thanks for that, I was wondering that the NMM was showing. There was signs that snow flurries will make it. Lots to watch and look out for.

Some reports of light snow reported in the Wales discussion thread... Only have mobile so can't see the location in signatures... Anyone else here got any positive sightings of the elusive phenomenon from their lamppost watches yet? ...temps near freezing I believe now at Newbury although GTLTW will have to give better measurement for my area...

On the 5 o'clock radar, it looks like rain (edging over the Bristol Channel) is turning to sleet as soon as it hits land, and, approaching Bridgwater, there's an area of light snow.
