You and me both!! rofl.gif

I'm fairly certain who will see snow this week:

Oh well...I will have to keep myself amused watching all the Christmas adverts if there is no snow, I really like the Aldi snowman one...

GEFS 10th Dec 2012, 06z,

This is rather a good set of ensembles to my eye.

First thing to look at is the variance chart. This is a statistical measure - that is independent of ramping, for example - that shows how much the runs agree with each. The higher the number, the higher the variance. It seems to me that they pretty much agree with each other apart from time to time details with the overall trend until T+144. This is quite unusual; very unusual, I'd say - you'd normally expect to see sub var<5 only some 90 odd hours away. Secondly, after a brief warm up some four days away, the trend is down, to some members it is very down with two members going for -10C right at the end. Thirdly, the min max chart: notice that the maximum doesn't bifurcate away from the mean/median - it is fairly steady, but the minimum plummets. Whilst the 68% confidence band (between min and max) never quite gets to below -5C, the trend to get here is certainly there.

Since I've been doing my own charts, this is about the best I've ever seen them in terms of reliability. And don't forget the coldest weather, this week, is still to come; and that is nailed on.

A cross-post referring to the lack of a Beast from the East being in the forecasts.

They really are pushing fair inland and building and merging blum.gif Surpises?

If your looking at the http://uksnowmap.com/ someone is doing some tests and tweeting to ignore those markers in London
