As it stands now, Thursday night is looking like it could potentially be rather noisy across E Anglia and poss E England. If it stays like this, the camera will deffo be out ready! PLEASE DONT ALTER !

It could slip further south by all means :D given its trajectory it would still grace most if not all of EA.

GFS however wants it much further North even missing most of EA...is the NAE still got it hitting the SE???

That lot just over from the Kent coast over France....looks awesome!!!

Actually the lot coming in towards the Sussex coast now is quite heavy. Not sure that it has any electrical punch, but I think I'll get the umbrella ready anyway!

Although watch areas will change no doubt, its the first time in ages I have seen the eastern side of the UK on an alert for four days(maybe I just haven't noticed) but an amber alert for the NE this far out too??

Indeed...nothing like the electricity from the stuff further east.

Nick F has issued a weather alert to cover the next few days taking us into the weekend. We have a real risk of flooding in the worse affected areas. This very wet Summer is about to get even wetter, is that even possible?! You better believe it! help.gif

Have to admit I'm surprised myself...models ranging from the SE corner to the far NE of England for this event....I think they are concerned about the risk of flooding rather than the nature of the event itself if that makes sense :D

Second concurrent Thursday of thundery interest!! Will my area get more of a look in this time? :cray:

Yeah that makes sense Harry and they are probably being extra careful in the flash flood ravaged areas from last Thursday as the ground will no doubt still be saturated. Makes an interesting few days that's for sure!!

If the forecasting models favour that new developing low to be placed a little further WNW, then I would begin to bank on it :)

According to Meteox radar, that area off the Sussex coast has fired-up. Given humidity (70%), dew point (17.5oC) and temp (23.5oC) here it could really explode if it makes it further north.

Let me have a look-see outside!!!

Edit: OK, can't see anything at the moment from up here in Mid Sussex, but you can guess I'll be a bit late home from work tonight to intercept this little lot:

Im amazed we havent seen anything electrical here yet, it was 21.0C with a dewpoint of 19.9C at one point, exceptionally humid for this part of the world.

We've seen a few heavy showers, one of which had a rainrate of over 130mm/hr.

Questionable funnel, taken from a cell moving across Paul (North Bank of Humber) looking South. Was about 45 mins ago.

Noticed some rotation, at first I thought it was scud, but it kept lowering and lowering.

Well, if nothing else, I've had an unexpectedly beautiful day during my week off. Nudging 24oC at the moment.

A colleague is best man at a wedding on Friday and just asked me if it would be nice in Beverley at lunchtime. Almost didn't have the heart to tell him that wellies and waterproofs are going to be the required wedding gear looking at the models... :/

The sun has broken out here and the convection is really getting going at last looking at the radar. Its actually looking quite threatening to my south now, and I can see there has been a couple of sferics in County Durham an hour ago.
