...and a new multicell is developing to the SE of the one marching into the west midlands and this one has Birmingham's name written all over it in a couple or hours time.......'El Brumo is coming!!'

We want Stafford's name on it though, but yeah looks like heading our way

Still very active here. Temporarily lost power for second time. Massive claps of thunder and lightening. Some bursts of very heavy rain.

Very very encouraging to hear, I remember may last year when we had that monster you were our upwind storm spotter laugh.png

Those storms are moving northwards, but developing eastwards, so the western edge is dying whilst it expands eastwards. This is what is giving the impression that they're moving ENEwards.

To think we haven't even reached max daytime heating peak yet, infact the sun has only been up for some 4 hours but that wouldn't really matter anyway as the ex-Irish MCS developed well in the early hours aided by the rising humidity and frontal outflow. More cells firing off even behind the main welsh-borders. Can't get too excited though as I got to be on my wit for hail cores and possible TN/SLW profiles.

This really looks like being an amazing day by UK standards.

That storm in Wales looks extremely active and there has been 2,576 strikes detected in the last hour, mainly in that area! 5,972 strikes so far today!

Must be huge amounts of energy to give such a strong storm at this time in the morning, this seems more like something you would see in the USA.

Just checked weather.com - apparently 92% and 20C at the moment. That is very high. Should hover around the 78-80% mark all day.

The camera is charging so hopefully should get some great footage of this storm complex....as mentioned earlier by 'alza' (I think) it's building on it's eastern flank, great news for here....so if things stay the same as they are now, Stafford, Telford, Cannock & Rugeley areas should have a great show

Just arvied at my desk in work and the radar is not a nice view... as someone has said the western edge is dieing off and the storm is heading for Telford...

Can here distant rumbles, and i fear that might be about that for this cell...

Epic looking though, so near but yet so far when your stuck in work. Frustrating!

Don't understand why Carol K (or any other forecaster) never mentions the "T-word" as well as the t-storms and large hail. In the US they're more upfront about it, even if its just a low chance. I suppose people in this country would just panic.
