Has anyone got a link to the UK coastal observatories with wave height information and stuff. I'm sure I got one off here before.

Try digging around here

I can tell you now .. it's pretty crazy here now the rain has come back. I've been out in it, and it's a concerning. The winds seem to be at quite a low level here, there's bound to be some kind of damage.

Looks like Portland is getting the brunt of it currently:

Wow. Had more rain here today than all of yesterday, and we were'nt even forecast much today. 8mm so far, and the winds have picked up. Sky news say there will be a sea swell of up to 5 meters in the english channel...that's onr to look out for!

Posted this link earlier in the SE and EA thread. You can monitor wave heights and other sea data live from buoys around the Channel coast, click on the interactive map to find the location you want:

30mm more rain last night, that's 95mm from this system now and it's still lashing it down. The wind is really strong too and howling around the house.

Any flooding so far?

I'm quite suprised the Met office only gave this a yellow warning for rain seeing as parts of wales are expected another 3 inches today.

85mm actually, still a lot.

There's some flooding in the fields and on minor roads and the river is very high but we're used to lots of rain here so there's rarely big problems. The highest 36hr total I've recored for a good while.

It's proper windy out there, probably hitting mid 40's at the moment where I live. Been quite an active last few months the Atlantic when you think about it, some very deep lows..

Gust of 82mph recorded at Needles crazy.gif

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18363905

That's crazy, but it as an exposed coast. Then again gusting almost 50mph in London at the moment, which puts on par with the stuff we had in December/January.

Even though it is an exposed coast, it's still pretty unusual for June. Still trying to find a webcam of the Enlish channel/bristol channel, there seem sto be a lot of talk about a surge and large waves there..

Sand blasted here next to Llanelli beach difficult to walk and stay up in so must be 60mph. Annoyingly mislaid my wind gauge. A pretty incredibly awful day even for Wales for June! Meanwhile the rain keeps pouring some massive totals building up over high ground.

Rivers very high and fields flooding this morning so flooding problems certain soon. Lots of trees reported down blocking roads too. Quite an unusual wind even for non summer.

Not a news article you expect to see during June...... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2155614/UK-weather-80mph-storm-batters-Britain--just-start.html

Very rough time indeed.

Rain finally easing off here but not after leaving close to 100mm for the 36 hour period, that's the month's total. Some flooding about but not too bad, mainly fields, minor roads etc. Lots of branches off trees, a few down too no doubt.
