A hard frost with patchy cloud cover and a reasonable sunrise.

A touch of ground frost with a low of 1.1C, lovely sunrise through about 6/8Ci with 1/8Sc beneath it, a lightish breeze from the SW

A bright sunny start with a cloudless sky. Temp was -3.0°C on the drive with a sharp frost, but now rising quickly. Saw -6.0°C on the car just into Mid Sussex.

A dry night with lengthy clear spells and patches of Acu. Cloud was already increasing steadily by 0730 and so far the morning has been dry and chilly with thickening Ast. Patches of yesterday morning's snow still lying in the shade.

At 0900;

The day dawned clear and frosty with the minimum being -2.0c however this rose quite swiftly as Cirrus and Altocumulus moved in
just after sunrise and the day has been cloudy with hazy sunshine. 6.9c at present with the max so far being 7.1c a little earlier.
11 May = the 1st completely dry day for 25 days!!

Frost lifted overnight as it turned cloudy before midnight, though it stayed dry. At observation, rather cloudy, bright spells, dry.

Clear at times, though a couple of showers overnight produced a little sleet and hail. At observation, clear and sunny, frost, icy patches with traces of hail and graupel pellets. The day stayed fine and dry with good sunny spells. Top temperature 6.0c. clear at first through the evening with a widespread frost developing.

Very cold this morning with a hard frost; dry all day with sunny periods, generally cloudier in the afternoon. Current conditions: broken cloud, 7.5 deg C, wind moderate W. Today's maximum 8.5, last night's minimum -4.2.
Celestial object of the season: M64, the 'Black Eye' galaxy in the constellation of Coma Berenices. High in the south on spring nights and visible with amateur telescopes against a dark sky.
In 2012 so far: maximum 27.2, minimum -9.6, days with falling snow 5, days with lying snow 5, days with thunder 2.
Last year: maximum 29.6, minimum -2.8, days with falling snow 1, no days with lying snow, days with thunder 5.
Since June 2002: hottest day 35.0 (10/8/03), coldest day -1.9 (3/12/10), warmest night 20.3 (20/7/06), coldest night -9.6 (11/2/12).

Clear spells with a slight frost last night. Cloudier later on.
Light showers before and around dawn.
Bright intervals early, then cloudy, the odd light shower. Dry this evening. Quite mild but rather windy (SSW) pm.

Max: 8.9c @ 1300
Rain yesterday: 2.3mm
