Lol, MO going to 6 hours of heavy snow in Brighton from midnight onwards with temps around 1C, we'll see, at least it shouldn't be rain now :) .

Anyone able to tell whether the front is moving as predicted - from having a look at reports some places not getting as heavy snowfall as predicted, speed being mentioned too....just curious

As Shrimper Said

Incredible Temperatures with a Southerly wind and an advancing Atlantic Front

indeed - its like something you read about from the great winters of old.

Temp -0.3 going down v slowly but dew point has risen quite a bit here since the snow started, now -1.1 up from -3 or so, should be worried?

I guess the air from the sea could warm or cool - not expert enough to know - definatly very light almost sleet up here at 67m, icing sugar dusting so far

Would warm to some extent, but if everything else is ok then it shouldn't matter! Still snowing lightly here but blowing fast from across that big wet sea-shaped thing that I can see each time I look out of the window here (what is that?). Take me back to Reigate where the only big expanse of water is Priory Park pond (which in fairness is not as big as the English Channel, has fewer shipping lanes, not so many greased-up swimmers and doesn't have quite the same impact on snow prospects. Beaches are better though (runs for cover))

The snow is beginning to get it's act together now, BIG flakes swirling in the wind, with a covering over roofs and plants, so all good considering I am in central London!
