Jean, I'm heading to Paris on Saturday, I'd imagine with high pressure aloft still, temps will be bitter. Quite possible the snow will still be about even then...though obviously pretty compacted and iced up.
Did not yet see models and am new to it but no temp above -1c ( if unlucky) forecasted till Friday at least!!!!!!nights stays very cold of course no temps above -5c ( some areas closer to -10 most of week) exept Friday when we could have -4 c but only central Paris not suburbs!!!

I'm often one of their harshest critics but I've got to say the METO have covered themselves in glory with this one. An almighty difficult one to call but I'm not sure they could have got it more accurate.

I've seen the usual comments bemoaning it turned to rain / what a washout etc etc but i'm not sure what else was expected further west? It was essentially a warm front introducing errr warmer air.

Yep Met O got this one spot on and I think congratulations are in order to quite a few members in the MOD thread who called this from a long way back. I actually think the GFS precip charts were also pretty good - we often think they are just a guess, but seem to have been geographically correct from some time out.

The models by in large did a superb job with this one, especially considering how complicated the set-up actually was.

Most snowfall I've seen in Nottingham for many years - far better than anything 2010 delivered! Can't remember the last time we had 3 inches+ of snow like last night. Great stuff.

Snow starting to melt here now was nice to see it (well for the amount we did have 1-2cm)

Hope that's not it! hope we will see a better snow event before end of feb! :)

Judging by the facial expression, I think 'better half enjoying the snow' may be overplaying it a little! Very jealous of the snow though.

still more than 90% of snow cover in northampton. Thick on roofs and intreated surfaces, still a few inches. only places a thaw has taken place is on the gritted main roads. Been a nice snow day for people to enjoy. Imagine more of a thaw taking place tomorrow so probably all be gone in the next day or so. Good weekend though.

Agreed - the models did pretty well with this event. Got the rain for here spot on - apart from anything else, we had 10cm of snow last winter which was probably 10 years worth for this location, and as it is not 2020 yet, I knew we would get only rain here!
