-11.3 at Sennybridge (0800h) the coldest, closely followed by Benson at -10.8 on Friday morning.

Some readings now appear to be challengers as some -9 or -10 under clear skies and calm winds, same general area.

Shall update and announce a winner at this time late Saturday or just after midnight anyway.

Well apparently the coldest on Saturday (and in the defined contest period) was -12.4 at South Newington, which is a new one on me as well ... shall we assume it is somewhere near Benson?

I will look through the entries and pick a winner at random (not really, but we all guessed Friday I think).

As it turns out, England and Wales managed to beat out Scotland each of the three days anyway, so my rules were not really necessary. Same goes for north of Manchester. Bialystok, Poland managed -30 and some place in Holland -21.

Stormmad26 is the contest winner, closest in temperature and location. He also mentioned that it could be close Saturday while saying Friday morning.

Watch for some very low readings now that there's snow on the ground, if skies stay clear any of the next few nights.
