I've been a member on this forum many years and yet I can't easily find a comprehensive list of acronyms and abbreviations to translate some of the terms used by more seasoned posters on here.

I found this (below) but it's deeply down in the archives

http://forum.netweat...-abbreviations/

a little googling found these:

http://www.srh.noaa....rx/glossary.php

http://www.srh.noaa..../acronyms_a.htm

I wander if it would be possible to have a 'pinned' topic in the help area to enable any new visitors (or those like myself who need a little refreshing) to view a concise list of weather terms / Acronyms and abbreviations with maybe a single line to explain ? Maybe even (dare I suggest) a quick link at the head of the model discussion thread :whistling:

I'd start a list but haven't clue what I am talking about ! - still learning, enthusiastically (-;

Mods please feel free to delete this if indeed there is a more recent thread on this subject out there
Some wind to fill a sail, rain for happy days, sun shine when it matters and snow when it doesn't (-:

its here PP in the Net Wx Guides, just scroll down the page until you come to it.
It seemed the best place to put it when I made the list-not exhaustive but I hope most are in there.
Well worth looking in the Guides section anyone else if you want an answer to many things mentioned in the weather threads.
