Oh no, Coast. What have you done?

I know its very unlikely to come off in that way, but the trend is encouraging and might give us something eventually

This winter is dire so far!

Any cold prospects have always stayed out in FI. I expect the meto to drop the cold and snowy chances today or tuesday for february altogether! :sorry::lazy:

I'm 50-50, we never seem to get any closer to the cold whatsoever.

I have come to the conclusion now that im telling myself that our weather is going to stay the same as it has been for the rest of winter,IF anything in the way of cold or snow shows up then its a bonus, that way im protecting myself from bitter dissapointment every time i log in and see it still is in FI and we are no closer to seeing it occur. :drinks:

Weatheronline hint at Wintry flurries across the South East from Sunday................

London ensembles now average between -2c - -5c between 27th Jan to 3rd Feb...just cold enough from the East to bring some interest !

Back in the dinosaur times namely the 80s when we didnt have computers or internet etc we relied on the BBC forecast or the only way we could see charts was to go up to Holborn to the Met Office, and very often these snowy events never turned up, nearly all the time it just surprised people and we had to get on with life , back in the 80s we had two major snow events one i remember cut Southend off, and we had snow about three feet deep nobody could drive, we had to walk, not sure what the shops did? we had a freezer my Mum stocked about two months of food in it, so we didnt have any problem there. I remember the Azores high joined with the Siberian high and low afer low went north or just developed over the med this i remember lasted about three to four weeks it just snowed ,the temp was about minus five( by day) the Jet broke through via the North and broke the high in two but took about a month, what would happen nowadays? must have been 1984/5? anybody remember this event in the SE?

Where has the Easterly gone, got the Azores high building again across us now?

and in Victorian times they had virtually nothing at all and still managed to get on with their retched lives!

I love the fact we have technology sitting on our desks or laps that means we can all guess at what the weather might be tomorrow, Friday or next week. But the reality is that whatever weather we are expecting, forecasting or crave, we will actually only get what was going to happen all along!!!!

Still, we wouldn't have all that emotion and fun without models and the model thread eh?

I've just posted this as my status update but what with mine and Coast's post above, I will have put the mockers on it for sure.

The GFS 12z is the best run of the year for coldies. However, the proper cold STILL remains post t+120. Mind you, some snow for a few tonight into tomorrow and possibly Thursday before we even get there. I like the idea of a classic battleground scenario come next weekend too, oh yes please!

Brrrr....

Why thankyou!

I think 8 days is the closest so far this winter that I have seen one of those charts show snow for my location!

I need to beat that now!

I think the best thing to do is ignore a promising looking GFS because we seem to scare them off when we acknowledge them. Hopefully they shall creep up on us that way?

Have I just said the plan aloud?
