Kaz trust me... The subscription radar is better than the free one. You get lightning detection overlay, air pressure, 850's, better zoom etc etc.

I bought a year long radar subscription a few months back and it was worth it because it does have much more features than the free one. I think the free one is great but i'll be sticking to my subscription radar as it is the best radar you can possibly get.

I'm quite liking the new v6 RADAR and already had it up for 5 minutes, poking around with the settings it seems there's no problems with it at all on my specs. I tend to prefer the wide-field look with the opacity settings as default, but the more into the coming weeks we get I'll start dabbling around with closer-field looks and trying out the opacity slide manually.

Its similar but I prefer the NW one as the colours of the intensity on any PPN is much clearer than raintoday which uses different shades or brown and orange and is not the most clearest you will ever see.

Must say, it will come in handy if we get any snow events!

So V6 radar is like rain today?

I paid a subscription for rain today (so I could see any potential snow)

I never really know what Netweather offer , any links ?

You're in the thread about the radar - I'd have thought a link may have been fairly easy to spot in here?!

A couple of new versions of the V6 extra radar have gone live today - the first cleared a few bugs including one which was stopping the animation when new updates came in, the second has added options to resize the radar display and also a remote control.

Very nice thanks for the free radar. I've just played a 2hr loop which shows the cumbrian fells getting quite a lot of rain at the moment.

Another update for V6 online today - among other things we now have scales for the NMM overlays.

Just like to say what a brilliant radar this is. Hopefully it will come into it's own in the coming weeks.

I have precipitation type and 850's overlay on and it is great.

The new V6 version is very good, especially the map, new scale and ATD lightning data. Though there is one thing that in a way makes me prefer the V4 version though it might be just with my computer. When clicking through the frames or moving the slider, the old image usually disappears before the new one so it 'flickers' i.e a brief 'flash' of blank before the new image loads, where as V4 retained the previous image until the new one loaded and it ran smoothly, making it much easier to see the direction of movement. Because of this I sometimes find my self flicking back to V4 to get a better idea. The animation plays smoothly, but I can only really review the last hour at a set speed then.

Occasionally like earlier today it actually loads and plays the images smoothly with no delay/'flickering' between the files, and it really looks amazing when you play it back then and watch the motion of the rain/showers. Basically I was wondering if this is a local issue to me, or if not if it's possible to make it so it plays back images without removing the previous image before the next one loads (not sure how much I'm making sense here) as that would make it much better still. Thanks :)
