Every year as soon as we get any winter weather in the South-east the site suffers some sort of seizure!
Will it ever be sorted out?

It's been very popular over the night- it takes a lot, i'd imagine Paul and the team are doing their best to sort it out. Just refresh the page and it works, it'll just do it every 5-10mins.
Hoping for a future in meteorology!

That's not particularly true or fair Kiwi - we've invested a huge amount in the servers and have a solid uptime record - even in the busiest times such as yesterday evening there wasn't a problem - it's 730 in the morning now and not exactly as busy as that yet.

One of the servers we use for the forum has some sort of issue, we're rebooting now and it will hopefully clear it. Fortunately because we load balance the forum across more than one server it won't go down whilst we do that.

Edit - that's the reboot completed and everything should now be back to normal.

Fair enough ....but it was frustrating that at 6am this morning I was unable to get into the forum to post my annoyance with the weather! Who should I complain to about this weather?? (not within your remit I suspect!)

Kiwi got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning. First problem for ages and toys go out off the pram. One of them hit me on the head....
Feel guilty now for raising the issue.

We have been having a problem with one of the forum servers which has resulted in these occasional timeouts, hopefully we've fixed it now.

still having problems here, server timing out when trying to access the model thread, surprising considering there's been twice as many users online in previous times

It's nothing to do with traffic, it's a server issue.
