A dry morning and mainly sunny until about 1100. Variable cloud cover after 1100 with one or two brief showers of sleet or wet snow, the cloud tending to disperse again after 1530.

The rain from last night's storm eased by sunrise leaving a windy day with bright intervals and a couple of light showers. Looks like we got the roof fixed just in time yesterday

Celestial object of the season: M64, the 'Black Eye' galaxy in the constellation of Coma Berenices. High in the south on spring nights and visible with amateur telescopes against a dark sky.
In 2012 so far: maximum 27.2, minimum -9.6, days with falling snow 5, days with lying snow 5, days with thunder 2.
Last year: maximum 29.6, minimum -2.8, days with falling snow 1, no days with lying snow, days with thunder 5.
Since June 2002: hottest day 35.0 (10/8/03), coldest day -1.9 (3/12/10), warmest night 20.3 (20/7/06), coldest night -9.6 (11/2/12).

Generally dry and sunnyish day with showers evaporating everytime they got near, but then a brief moderate hail shower around 4pm.
Dry with variable cloud this evening, currently clear but not that cold at 4.3c, high was 6.2c early this afternoon.

Spells of rain, some heavy last night, clear spells and showers later. Mild at first, ground frost by dawn.
Sunny intervals today with some showers of rain, sleet and hail. Rather cold with a fresh SW wind.
Min: 1.3c @ 10am
Max: 5.8c @ 1300 (although it was 8.5c @ midnight)
Rain yesterday: 26.6mm (local river spilling it's banks)
Rain since 0900: 2.2mm
Currently: Clear periods.
Temp: 2.9c
