Hi Mksnowangel,

I was in your neck of the woods on Saturday, very busy due the Red Bull event. Sitting here watching the pressure going down although I can't hear much wind so far and to think this time last year little did we know that in a few days time we would be having one of the best snow events in many years.

Fingers crossed that the snow arrives soon.

Chris
Indeed. wasn't it good. Will keep my pics in my sig for some time I think.:)

'Tis a tad blowy out there. Nothing too scary though :)

Did think my neighbour was a bit daft putting outdoor lights out this evening (yes, actually in the dark ...) - could they not wait a couple more days?!

Wierd to hear rain, actually - been a pretty rare occurrence recently.

Hi Chris, Yes it was busy police estimated 60,000 people, I was there in the middle of it just up on the opposite side of Midsummer Boulevard to the paddock/pit lane with a great view, I've put some of my photos in the gallery on here

I would really like to see some flakes today although Im remaining sceptical, chances for friday looking better now for snow across much of the region albeit subject to change.

As for today, thickness looking good at 524dam but uppers said to be at -3 so not too good, may be ok to see some sleet today though which I would be happy with.

Netweather going for heavy precipitation, -6 degrees uppers and 524/523 thickness, 1 degree air temp would see some snow alright if that came off.

TWO also going for heavy snow between 3 and 9am on friday, possible :help: albeit unlikely.

Way too marginal and too many variables for this mornings suggestion of snow on Friday. All of the following need to be in place fro that to happen:

The track of the LP system today crossing north of Scotland and out into the North Atlantic, cyclogenesis out in the far Western Atlantic, secondary lows dragged around the main LP pulling in diluted PM -5 850hpa air on its flank as it passes through, dew points and wet bulb on the right side of 0C?

The ensembles show this marginality very clearly with a large spike in distribution for both precipitation and pressure on Thursday night / Friday. Which is also why the % probability stays on the <50% region.

If anything does come out of this, expect it to be sleety rain.

Hi everyone

I looked at the regional threads a couple of days ago and thought I was going to have to join in with the Kent lot (London and South East!). Glad to see the 3 counties has appeared again!

Looking forward to the excitement of lamp post watching with you all this winter...

Thanks MK! I was just looking at the Central Southern lot and I don't know if I should be there really - although it's a bit quiet there! I might have to float between the two...! It's just that I feel at home here and Bucks is one of the 3 counties. It's all too confusing!

Anyway, not much to report here - just a very cold wind and some rain earlier. Not even sleet :lazy:

When is the chance of seeing snow flakes today because at the moment it is clear skies, also for Thursday/Friday shows heavy rain for Watford, although Watford is more towards the south of 3 Counties.
