I'm in a very interesting location for tommorows winds. I'm only a few hundred metres from a Northern facing coast being on the Southern mouth of Belfast lough. I'm looking forward to getting some breaking wave photos over the sea walls. Gfs would put me under WNW gusts of about 80-90mph.

no way not in bangor?

Thats what gust charts currently show, although that'll be for the non-sheltered areas. It's scary.

Can't say that I am all that fussed in severe gale force winds especially in a high expose area in which I live.

The chicken Coop doesn't like it either seeing as it got blown to bits a couple of weeks agao, that reminds me I must tie it down!

One thing I've just noticed on the charts is the strong Jetstreak and numerous convergence zones over a good bit of Ireland as a whole. I wouldn't rule out some exceptional gusts under that situation...but it'll be very isolated, should it happen at all. Fleeting heavy showers, turning wintry later tommorow. It is absolutely freezing here.

There'll be real blizzard like conditions on higher ground (Glenshane probably included!) from some time tomorrow afternoon through to Friday morning, definitely should see some snow at lower levels as well but probably not until later in the day

Yeah I did watch it. Is it just me or do the forecasters seem to be holding back a little on forecasting this snow? I predicted for the last snow fall that you would see it first and you did Pomeroy! Not only did you see it first but you got the most! Jammy sod!

I'd rather not celebrate my house rolling down the road like tumble weed. Apart from that, my cellar is bone dry atm.

No, but then again who knows, its been a while since the last winds of this strength in Bangor. Structural damage is likely.
