Well every year we have a little corner of the forum where the cold and snow fans can ramp up the prospects for any of the white stuff, even if it's only a hint of a forecast way off in the distance and by an unknown source or person.

This will be the place for wildly excitable people, including members of the SACRA 'Special Cold and Raw Force' (SCARF) to undertake the 2011/2012 mission to outrageously promote even the merest hint of a possibility of snow or cold weather.

Good luck team!

winter's coming, according to the meto - its official

Unsettled in northern and western parts of the UK, with occasionally heavy showers and longer spells of rain. It will also be windy for much of the time, particularly at the start of the period. Elsewhere, conditions should be a little more mixed, with some cloudy spells with rain and showers, especially during the middle and latter part of the first week, but also drier and brighter interludes, with some southeastern parts remaining quite dry at first. Temperatures will be near- or just above average at first, with often mild nights, before becoming chillier towards the weekend, with some wintry showers possible over northern hills. Towards the end of the period, southern, eastern and central parts may become less unsettled, with a risk of frosty nights and morning fog patches.

I think we will see 3 foot of snow in central London, with temperatures possibly falling to -35 in Southampton, followed by the freeze-up of the Irish Sea and English Channel..

I just know that next GFS runs will upgrade any possibility of cold weather. Afterall, they can't keep downgrading the cold potential all time time... I bet you all this time the models have been trying to trick us with the mild setup they have been (and are) showing. In fact, I reckon all the mild stuff they're showing on their runs is actually cold weather in disguise. Posted Image

What worries me is that some people might actually believe themselves or what other members have posted in here, lets hope this crazy talk stays in this thread.

James Maddon eat your heart out!!

950mb depression with storm force winds gusting to 90mph and exceptionally heavy snowfall with temps around -20c. It's going to happen now because I have said so Posted Image Posted Image
