I have a weather station WS2350 and cant get Heavyweather to work on my laptop with WIndows 7. I want to use the weather station to record climate history and would prefer not to keep it connected to my laptop. How can I connect to the weather station and download the readings taken over the past days/weeks? Thanks

Suprised no one else has bothered to come on here and at least give you advice as you are a new member.
I don't personally no what the problem may be but perhaps you should look online about it and see if anyone else has had the problem!

I managed to miss this thread somehow, apologies.
I was running a WS2300 (same as the WS2350) for many years but finally had to retire it as my primary station as I just couldnt get it to work with Windows 7. I also had the problem of requiring a USB to Serial converter, which by all accounts causes even more issues.
The heavyweather software itself is absolutely ancient, there wasnt a single update since I first upgraded to the station in late-2004. Cumulus is a good alternative but again there are issues with the USB/Serial converter. It must also be remembered that the WS2300/2350 can only store 200 individual records, so even if you got it to somehow work you'll only have data covering a short time period depending on the intervals you have in the software for recording data to the built in logger.
Its a shame the software is so weak really as the hardware itself has been absolutely flawless for me for 7 years. Its still running fine now, but as a backup to my Davis VP2 and for occasional experiments and temperature comparisons.

It can be got to work with Weather-Display (not free, but free trial) not sure about Cumulus (free but suggest donation)
Plenty of people are running them, uploading to wunderground etc - they seem a decent package for the money
