I like the look of the new forum. I think the addition of seeing who likes the posts is good,i think there was something similar on the forum a number of yrs ago or maybe my memory is playing tricks on me.

hi Paul
How does one get a spell check on a post prior to posting it please?

here is my weather station, for local written forecasts or simply browsing further afield.

Spell check seems to be working ok in chrome and firefox, if you're using IE then you must have IEspell installed, in which case it's worth updating to the latest version:

http://www.iespell.com/

For multi quotes, a small popup appears bottom right when you multiquote any posts, clicking the reply button in that does the trick.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone - good to know the majority seem to be liking it :D

No problems with any bugs in the change over, but not keen on knowing who has liked /+ a reputation on a post. It's nice to know who likes what you have posted, but I feel it should be kept anonymous.

See where you're coming from, there is the option to turn the votes back to being private again but personally I think there's something to be gained by making it transparent.

I like it, am I right in saying the fast reply and other reply has gone now? Now its just only one place we can reply from?

More avatar issues. :)

I've uploaded a new image twice and twice it's reverted back to the old avatar when I've logged out. I'm not sure I want to stick with the current one if I can't get it to start dancing again (it still does in my profile strangely enough).

Time to form an orderly queue methinks!

It's by design that it's not dancing on posts etc I'm afraid - a lot of people find moving images by posts a bit distracting so it's now set to disable animation on those screens. I imagine the return of the old avatar is purely a caching thing, so refreshing the page a couple of times should clear it.

Re Iespell, does it not highlight words as you type John?

If not, then unfortunately as it's not a native thing in either the browser or the forum there's little that can be done.

no highlighting and no little tick in the top right the old system had-sad that ability will not be there

I can't abide spelling errors so it seems I'll have to do most posts into word and check then into word pad as Net Wx seems not to like word then into the forum, a bit tedious really but if there is nothing you feel you can do so be it I suppose?

It's unfortunate that while every other browser has a built in spell checker, ie doesn't and is reliant on a very old, freeware addon which doesn't look like it's been updated in some time and may not be up to the job in more modern text editors.

Ha, I knew it!

I'll try removing the image first before uploading the new one, rather than replacing it directly.

I'm missing the dropdown navigator that used to appear at the bottom of each page, with all the forum folders listed in it. It was very useful for navigating without having to drill down from the top every time. Any chance of getting it back?
