Looks like Yorkshire and Lincolnshire will get the best thunderstorms this afternoon. Having said that, convection is kicking off in Northumberland now, so there'll be showers soon, and I wouldn't rule out some storms up here again today even if they do take longer to get going.

i hope the weather forecast is right for later today. Thunder from 5pm to 10pm for us in scunny area. It could be right, I've seen some good storms recently including a possible tornado/funnel from just behind my house a couple of weeks ago.

Been sunny most of the morning but just had a very light shower. Lots of cloud now but there are sunny gaps through which towers can be seen. Very little wind at the mo but there is a little shear: wind, such that it is, NNW at ground, level, higher up N or NNE. Temp up to 20deg.

Stunning Convergence Line denoted on radar over the Penines! There should be some amazing Pictures today you lot up there.

Even here in SE Essex we have some great Convection, in fact something is trying to form just over the Estuary in Central Kent!
