Afternoon all.
Are we in for something down here? My AM radio is picking up strikes at the rate of 3 per minute, that generally means within a 10 mile radius but so far I've not seen or heard anything remotely interesting other than all to frequent moderate showers!

First storm of the year here. Torrential for about 10 minutes. Lots of rumbles but no lightning seen due to very poor visibility.

now had lightning and a loud clap.

Afternoon all,More heavy rain in the early hours here,The road opposite my house is flooded and vehicles are lining up because the right side of the road is really deep but the wrong side is more shallow so vehicles are taking it turns to get through,Hoping for some thundery weather today but not holding my breath, think the North and Scotland will hog it all again,Can only hope,Good luck all.

Black skies rolling in...will this deliver a rumble???

Slight element of shear, lower clouds moving in different direction to higher level clouds...either way looks as if it's going to pour down!

Could do with a good storm! Have missed out 5 or 6 times now and it's driving me mad! Was on the edge of the Penkridge storm a few weeks ago but that's all i've had this year.

I'm not sure how much I trust the strike radar. There's supposedly been a couple pretty much directly over me, but there haven't been. Pouring down though.

Also when people say a strike was positive what does this mean and how is it different to a regular strike?

Storm in progress just to my north here at work at Hounslow/Heathrow. Got a great vantage point from the 10th floor of my office across NW London and across to central London, just seen a cg towards Southall way - which is disappearing in curtains of rain.

Unfortunatley no time to take and upload photos, as there's some great cloudscapes today.
Tornadoes seen to date:

Fredericksburg (TX) 01/05/07, Stafford (KS) 05/05/07, Medicine Lodge (KS) 06/05/08, Hooker (OK) 05/05/08, Stuttgart (AR) 10/05/08, Big Spring (TX) 14/05/08, Sielbert (CO) 21/05/08, Hoxie (KS) 22/05/08, Collyer (KS) 22/05/08, Dighton (KS) 23/05/08, Ness City (KS) 23/05/08, Ellis (KS) 23/05/08, Quinter (KS) 23/05/08, Pratt (KS) 26/05/08, Kearney (NE) 29/05/08, Aurora (NE) 29/05/08.
