Fair through the Mediterranean, some showers to the north

High pressure brings plenty of fair weather to western and southern Europe today. There will be good spells of sunshine extending through France and into Spain and Portugal. The western Mediterranean will be fine too, although a northeast breeze blowing through the Balearics. Italy should have a fine day too with more sunshine, although there could be an odd shower forming over the hills later. Turkey and Greece are going to be fine with lots of sunshine throughout. Cooler weather and showers affecting the Low Countries and Germany today. The showers merging to longer spells of rain at times, and becoming increasingly windy across Poland and northern Germany. Staying windy across Denmark with showers or longer spells of rain here. More cloud and rain in Norway with some showery rain through southern Sweden. Brighter for the Baltic States with some showers later.

Wednesday

Across central Europe there will be some showers in northern France, although southern areas should be drier with some sunny spells here. Cloud and some showers or longer spells of rain may affect the Low Countries as well as northern Germany. Poland is likely to have cloud and some showers or longer periods of rain, especially in the north. The far south for Sweden is likely to have some cloud and a few showers. For most of the rest of Norway and Sweden the day is likely to be dry with sunny spells. The Baltic States should be fair, although cloud and rain may affect Lithuania. A showery day for Spain and Portugal on Friday, some of the showers heavy at times. Across much of France, Italy, Greece and Turkey the day is going to be fair with some pleasant late summer sunshine, and feeling very warm too. Cloud for northern France, the Low Countries and parts of southern Germany and Poland will bring a more dull day here, whilst the north of Germany and Poland will be remaining fine. A small area of low pressure in Finland will be giving showers here, and some of these could be heavy at times. The heaviest of the showers over Finland and the Baltic States. More scattered showers for Norway and Sweden as well as Denmark.

Saturday

The risk of showers affecting northern parts of Spain today. These heavy showers slipping into western France, and these could be thundery. The southern half of the country should be fair with lots of sunshine throughout the day. Italy should have a fair day with lots of sunshine. There will be further spells of sunshine across Greece and it should be dry here as well. Turkey is going to be dry with more sunshine.
