Heavy and thundery rain affecting parts of Spain and France, but fine for most of the Mediterranean

Tuesday

Mostly a dry day across England today. A number of heavy showers will affect western parts of France with eastern France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Germany and Poland to have a dry, sunny and warm summer's day. Just a few showers develop over the Alps today and across the far north of Spain. Most of Spain and Portugal looks sunny and hot. Sunny across the Balearic's into Italy, Greece, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and the former Yugoslavia. Some heavy showers with thunder will extend from Finland across the Baltic States into Belarus and the Ukraine. Outbreaks of rain are forecast for Norway with showers across Sweden.

Wednesday

Some cloud and rain affecting the far north of Spain today, where it will be feeling chilly too. Fair for the south of Spain and Portugal with sunny spells here. It will be dry and sunny across the Balearic's, through Italy and into Greece with some heavy showers forming over the mountains of Turkey. Heavy periods of rain extend through France and into much of Europe, with the risk of thunder at times in Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria and into Poland. Drier weather should reach the far north of France later, although it will be windy on northern coasts. High pressure brings fair weather in the UK and this extends through Norway. There will be some cloud and drizzle over southern Denmark, but the Baltic States should be fair as will be much of Sweden, away from the far south. A few showers for Finland with sunny spells in-between.

Expect showers across parts of England today. A wet day is expected across Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Germany and across France with heavy spells of rain and heavy showers. Much of Norway and Sweden looks fair and dry with sunny spells with any showers in the north. More in way of showers to come across Finland today. High pressure will give much of Russia, The Baltic States, Belarus and Poland a fine summery day with sunny spells. Hot across Russia today. A few showers will develop across central parts of the Ukraine but overall a dry, hot day there. Lots of very warm sunshine will also be found across the former Yugoslavia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. Hot, sunny and dry across Italy, Spain and Portugal today. There is a risk of a few showers around the Balearics today but mainly dry.

Thursday

Mostly a dry day across England today. A few showers will affect central parts of France with much of the country dry and warm. An area oh heavy rain is expected across Belgium, Holland into Denmark, northern parts of Germany into southern parts of Sweden and across into the Baltic Sea brushing northern Poland and western coasts of the Baltic States. Much of Germany, Poland and the Baltic States looks dry. Dry too across Belarus, much of Finland, Russia and the Ukraine with lots of hot sunshine. The weather remains sunny and hot across the former Yugoslavia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey and across into Italy. Sunny and hot as well across Portugal and Spain with some heavy showers expected across Switzerland and Austria.

Fair across most of southern Europe but cloud and some rain to the north

Friday

A fine day throughout the Mediterranean. There will be lots of hot sunshine through Portugal and Spain, this extending through Italy and into Greece as well as Turkey. It should remain fine ad dry into Bulgaria and Romania too. A fair day to come over France with sunny spells here. It should stay fair for the Low Countries and much of Germany, although there will be cloud and some showers in the east, these extending into Poland where it will be windy too. Low pressure brings cloud and strong winds over Denmark, southern Sweden as well as southern Norway. There will be rain here, some of it heavy at times. A few showers in the Baltic States with some cloud and outbreaks of rain across Finland. Northern Norway as well as the rest of Sweden should be fair.

Saturday

A fair day for most of Spain and Portugal although there will be some cloud affecting northern coasts of Spain. High pressure in the Mediterranean brings fine weather through the Balearic's and Italy, although a few thundery showers could affect northern Italy, Greece and inland parts of Turkey. Western France is likely to be windy with some rain here, although high pressure brings fair weather to much of the rest of the country, the Low Countries and Germany. Some thundery showers in northern Italy and Switzerland. A fine day through Denmark and Norway with sunny spells here, although there will be some cloud and showers for eastern Sweden and Finland.

Low pressure over central parts of France brings cloud and periods of rain here. This rain extends into Switzerland and western parts of Germany. Rain across central and eastern Poland with strong winds here too. The area of low pressure brings cloud and drizzle into the Baltic States and Finland. Through the Mediterranean the skies will be clearer with sunny spells. There could be some showers in central parts of Spain. Sunny and dry in the eastern Mediterranean and very warm here. Some heavy showers over Bulgaria and Romania. Sweden will be fair with some sunny spells and it should be dry here. Denmark is going to have sunny spells and a few showers. fair in southern Norway but the north of the country will have cloud and some showers.

Friday

Plenty of fair weather across Portugal and Spain today with good spells of sunshine and warm weather. It will be remaining dry and sunny across the Balearics and into Italy as well as Greece. Further spells of sunshine through the Mediterranean, although there will be some heavy showers across northern Italy with those heavy showers affecting northern Greece and northern Turkey too. Plenty of sunshine to come across most of France, with some showers in the far northwest. Fair for most of the Low Countries and Germany, with some showers across northern Poland. Fair in Hungary and Austria, but some showers through Switzerland. Low pressure over the Baltic States give some showers or rain here. Breezy over Finland with some showers. Cool and breezy in Sweden with a further risk of showers here. Further showers in inland Norway, but fair on the coasts.

Saturday

Fair again through Spain and Portugal today with lots of sunshine. More sunshine for the Balearics and Italy too. This sunny weather extending through Greece and Turkey; cooling sea breezes forming throughout the Mediterranean. A few heavy showers may affect the Alps but for much of France, the Low Countries and Germany the day is going to be dry with good spells of sunshine. The northerly wind taking the edge off summertime temperatures but it will still feel very warm. Poland is in for a fine day, although some cloud could trouble the east of the country.
