The Metro is a rag operated by the Daily Mail - I'll say no more.

It's actually correcting the BS, not spreading it!

Warming unlikely to limit chances of UK soggy summers

Quote

The UK is likely to continue to have soggy summers regardless of global warming according to a new study. Scientists say that greenhouse gases will cause a general rise in summer temperatures, over the course of this century. But they argue, it is random shifts in Atlantic storm tracks that determine whether our summers are hot and sunny or cool and wet. The study has been published in the journal Nature Geoscience.

Here we go again. They cant even get simple facts correct now. "America’s National Hurricane Centre has logged Gaston as a category-1 hurricane - the highest classification of storm - as it gathers strength whipping up 90mph winds"

Does it annoy anyone else that they use netweather charts to create their scary images?

Today in the Sunday express online they managed to print a story about " the worst winter in 60 years " without noticing it was a rehash of a 2013 story, the complete give away was that it contained a long range forecast from 2013, and the http link contained a reference to 2013, wow a forecast accurate 3 yrs in advance , what kind of super computer does the express have.

Mind you in 2015 it was going to be the worse winter in 50 years

on 10th Jan this year they predicted the coldest winter for 58 years ( very specific ) " an Arctic Snowbomb"

But on 18th Feb they had backed down and predicted "ARCTIC gales, snow and freezing rain is sweeping Britain today with the entire country facing the worst winter blast for at least a year." Not the worst winter blast for at least a year , what since the last winter , how odd. They got that one right at least. Anyway I will predict now, that this winter will be the harshest winter since last winter, and next summer will be the hottest since last summer. Maybe they will give me a job.

Obviously making up stories about the weather is useful when covering up more painful truths.

BTW I don't read the express , I was looking for news on my home town on a woman who had a fight in McD's

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
