We had the total lunar eclipse on the 21st of December and a partial solar eclipse will be visible on the 4th of January.
The partial solar eclipse will be viewed over most of Europe, north Africa, the Middle East and as far east as parts of India and China.
For most of the the British Isles, the sun will rise in eclipse after the maximum phase has passed and the further north and west you are, the less of the sun will be covered at sunrise.
However maximum phase can be viewed in the SE and East Anglia as it occurs just after sunrise.
75% for London
73% for Birmingham at sunrise at 8.20am
50% for Glasgow at sunrise at 8.49am
