Very nice! You could try a moon filter on the eyepiece and it would reduce the glare....or you could take lots of images and stack them....then you'd get to see the belts too.

Great Asby Weather

Air frosts since the autumn - forty six

Lowest temperature: -8.6º

Days with snow falling: nineteen

All views I express are either my own or someone else's, which I've copied because I think they might make me sound intelligent, but definitely not Paul's or Netweather's.

Will any moon filter work with any telescope?

They normally thread onto the back of eyepieces, so should do, as long as your telescope takes standard 1.25" eyepieces, which I'm sure it will?

That's pretty much the view I get with my 20x binoculars. Jupiter is large enough that it doesn't take much zoom to make out the planet's disc, though more is needed to make out details like the Great Red Spot.

I can pick up the Galilean moons as small dots, but only if I keep the binoculars still (which is very difficult without a tripod).

Which type of Scope do you use?

Q. If there was a global flood (in the days of Noah) what evidence would we expect to find?
A. Billions of dead things, buried in rock layers, laid down by water, all over the Earth.
And what do we find? Exactly that! QED.
