I have just seen the oddest thing ever.
A very thin line of what looked to be cloud stretch from east to west, racing across the sky from north to south. I thought initially it was shadow until I noticed how long it. I say it was cloud because that is the only explaination I have, although when it did pass over the tiny bit of blue sky we have it seem to vanish.
Took a couple of pics, sorry they are not very good. I didn't think I would have time to dash in and get my camera, so used my phone instead.

Has anyone seen this before? Can anyone explain what it was and why it happens?
Any thoughts would really be appreciated.

Seems like the shadow of an aeroplane contrail cast from above... don't forget, at our latitude the shadow will not be directly below the contrail itself.

Ah that makes sense, thank you. But what would give the impression it is speeding across the sky?

i have a ufo thread open, so what am i gonna say?
What i want to know is what is the yellow like blob on the first pic(top right under dark cloud) , also ive seen quite a few distrails/contrails and shadows of the trails also aircrafts shadowing on to clouds, it looks quite like one of these and a really good example to. But i cant say 100% certain tho!

Only legs I have any interest in are lamb ones roasted with rosemary. Cabernet goes nicely with that too although I prefer Shiraz in general.

Off topic i know but then????.............. what was the topic?
