Brilliant, Harry. Last strike sounds like a detonation of TNT. I can remember one occasion in September 1993 when at around 02:00am there was a backbuilding storm that came out of literally nowhere. The thunder, and as one member asked, and I'm happy to answer that. It sounds louder at night is because of less human activity.

Phil.

Its some pretty awsome footage, i think its pretty universal that some of us used to be scared when we where little. for me it was particualarily bad as soon as my dad saw a flash he'd litrally run into my room and grab me before the thunder came so i didnt scream the place down.
I remember once there was a thunderstorm and i was too scared to make an noise so i hid under my covers scariest night of my life, but now i love it even though it sometimes makes me nervous still as people said the night ones make me feel un easy. but ive witnessed some intense storms in florida!! that went on all night it started at 7 and i got up at 5 am for a pee and could still see the lightning from it.

A slightly more recent case of thunder at its best - this 2 days ago! These positive bolts were so powerful you felt the fizzle run over your skin!!

Bear in mind that what appears on video seems much further away!
