I'm not revising my prediction- 6.5 it is. Although the jet will be taking quite a southerly track, winds will be predominantly southerly as per the first half of December 2000 and so I think we will have a warm one.

Time for my punt and I have to say I'm not too sure, as I don't think it will be quite as mild as I originally thought, but still above average, with no real cold until perhaps the final week. I'm going to try:

5.7C

Difficult one this. I guess that the southerly tracking jet may get neutralised by southerly winds and it won't get truly cold until it is too late. So on that basis I think I'll go for 5.3ºC please.

Is this the start of a new competition?

I'm sticking at 5.5C at it seems a fairly reasonable bet at the moment: not too mild, but little in the way of real cold.
I survived the coldest winter since '63, and almost the coldest in 100 years.
