Absolute carnage, England given the beating of a life time by the aussies.....words almost fail me, in 30 years following the game, I've never seen such an ineffectual bowling performance by England...They weren't bad, as in bowling crud and all over the place, rather simply they never looked like taking a wicket....Bresnan is the most ineffectual first change bowler I've ever seen, yes he might have scored runs, but thats not what he's in the team for...as 1st change bowler, his job is both taking wickets and containment...Colly, 2nd change?...do me a favour!......Is Geoff Miller still selecting this team?...if so, I hope that thing he can hear whistling through the air is his P45....Anderson, Onions, Bresnan, Colly & Swann...on a low seaming track, possibly....on a flat track, no chance

maybe a bit too harsh Mick :) ...admittedly, the one day team can be pretty dire, witness last night, but I got some hope for the test series in SA

Maybe those flying ants before and during the Aussies came onto the crease was a devious ploy by Ponting? Posted Image

Right. I am at some stage today going to switch on the Wii and smack these Aussies so hard that they'll get back home quicker than by plane. Posted Image

England have started their tour of South Africa with an easy win by 185 runs over the SA team, the Eagles (who recently competed in the champions league)....Good start for England with Strauss, Trott, & Morgan making 50's, with the wickets shared between the England attack...England have 2 further warm-up games before the 1st 20/20 against SA a week today

Think the test series will be closer than people are suggesting. South Africa will win - they have more fire power and strength in depth but England can play good cricket, just lack consistency.

Concern in the bowling department as there is little variation but Harmison was never going to be the answer to that. To use a term I hate but is applicable here - the guy is a 'peaheart'. He had talent; could have been a very good bowler but slight technique issues coupled with a lack of will/intent meant it was never going to be.

Absolutely, I couldnt agree more on both points :aggressive:

Another solid performance by England today, with a comfortable 9 wkt win over The Warriors franchise, Strauss scoring a century and Denly 80 odd, as England romped home with nearly 10 overs to spare

England bt SA by 1 run in the 1st 20/20...magnificent innings by Colly & especially Eoin Morgan, but the most impressive thing on the broadcast?...Bumble's diving under the table after a close lightning strike to the commentary box!! :drinks:

What a performance by the SA in the 2nd 20/20!!..240+, sixes galore, England were dreadful bowling, absolutley dreadful, even worse than the 1-day series against the aussies...the fielding though was pretty good...what really wound me up though was our batting, in bock capitals, THEY DIDNT EVEN TRY!....Sorry, but if you are international, PROFESSIONAL sportsmen, you should, at the very least give it a go...If that was a regular 9-5 job, they'd all be sacked...nuff said

Oh and by the way, if any of the NW grammatical society want to complain about my spelling and grammar then all I can say is ....."get a life!"... :)

A very good win by England in the 1st proper ODI against South Africa....England bowled with great discipline and apart from staussy dropping a couple of sitters, the fielding was top draw....Most Impressive though was our run chase...Great anchor knocks by JT & Colly, with a spectacular cameo by Morgan...Man of the Match to Colly for a great all round game, and England continuing their winning ways against the Springboks!

I think Trott's shown how stupid it was of the selectors to leave him out of the squad versus Australia and the Champions Trophy squad. And Collingwood seems to have changed his style of play, he's always been good at batting lots of overs and scoring quickly later in inings but recently he's aggressive from the start.

England give an hammering today in the 3rd ODI....England's bowling was awfull, and was suitably punished by the SA batsmen....SA 354-6, England 242 all out...SA win by 112 runs...About as one sided as you can get!

saw the SA innings and thought the bowling was lacking in anything inventive. why was it that the best ball from Broad was his very last one Posted Image if they had put the ball up that close for all their overs i am sure we would have cut their scoring down.
