Congratulations to Chasetown who have reached the play-off final against Glapwell after beating Sheffield FC 3-2.

Hello High Pressure,

Is your playoff a single match? If so I am sorry to hear that Sutton do not fight to live another day.

Due to work comitments I was unable to go to our away leg against Bath last night but two of my sons went and got back to Essex just before 2oclock this morning. They reckon that almost 200 Clarets made the long trek to the game. According to everyone we nplayed very well last night and had at least 75% of the play. We also had something like 21 corners to their 2 or 3. We also had the ball cleared off their line and two penalty shouts ignored. To be honest I am not over confident that we will overturn the 2 goal deficit on Saturday as this season we tend to play better away than at home. Also it is something like 21 games since we have scored more than two goals.
We will all be on tenderhooks until the final whistle blows of Saturday afternoon (unless of course it goes to penalties!)

Regards

Dave

Good luck you still have a chance this is our game so you can see for yourself how we imploded:

I cannot watch it myself but 2 of the goals would be worthy in the premiership.

Congratulations to Chasetown who achieved promotion today thanks to a 1-0 win against Glapwell, Dean Perrow getting the winner in the 85th minute.

Oh well it was not to be. Congatulations to Bath City who now meet Woking in the final. We were absolutely awful today and when we thought things could not get any worse the referee had no alternative to sending off our goalkeeper. A totally inept unspirited display.

Good luck to York City tomorrow.

Saint if you are reading this what is the problem with St Albans. I have recently read something about player embargo etc. Is this a legacy from when your building contractor sponsor went up the swaney?

At least on the plus side we will enjoy quite a few games which are relatively local to us e.g. St Albans, Braintree, Bishop Stortford, Thurrock, Dartford, Ebbsfleet, Dover. That is the only plus however as I was really looking forward to the prospect of BSP next season

Unlucky Dave: Play offs are horrible especially if you come second and lose to the 5th place team like we did in a 25min spell of madness. You will enjoy your trip to Boreham wood next season while we lick our wounds and wonder about what might or should have been :)

Trouble at Luton this afternoon:

This follows on from Trouble at the Ryman Premier league play off final on Saturday between Boreham Wood and Kingstonian which was 0-0 before a Boreham Wood supporter ran on the pitch and punch the Kingstonian captain causing him to play the remainder of the game with concussion. The game finished 2-0 to Boreham Wood amid scenes not seen in the referees words in his 20yr career. Kingstonian having lost have lodged an appeal with the league to have the match replayed.

Oh joy,
I am Safety Officer for Chelmsford City. We will have to look out next season if Chippenham's appeal is unsuccessful. Also hope that Luton do not get demoted to our division as a result of today's appalling behaviour. I used to work with a Watford fan who used to tell me about what problems there often was when the two teams met. Now I work with an AFC Wimbledon supporter who tolde me that there were Luton Town fans outside their ground spoiling for a fight when they met.

Grab my Graupuls
Congratulations on today's result. Good luck in the final against Oxford United. I know it is difficult to judge from cup games but we played both Stevenage (FA cup) and Oxford United (FA Trophy) and we lost to both- we was unlucky with cup draws this season! I felt that overall Stevenage was the better of the two sides. We made Oxford look quite ordinary for long periods of the match.

Well I am a Hatter fans and feel some of our supporters acted disgracefully.

However given we have been deducted 40 points in the last 3 yrs I'm sure another 10 will be added.

There was full consultation with the police and loads of extra stewards drafted in but still not enough it seems to stop a few mindless morons.

I notice the Luton Town Official web site doesn't even mention it.

Of course it's a big disappointment for a club like Luton (I use to watch them regularly in the late 80s when Wembley was their second home).

Ps Watford and AFC Wimbledon always started it. Posted Image

Not in the 80's, I suspect you mean Milton Keynes Dons, it is a very contentious point around these parts AFCW still think they won the FA Cup before they were born :whistling:

The only good thing about not being promoted to the BSP for 2010/11 is that with teams being relegated/promoted to the BSS our club's travel bill will be much less than for last season. It has been calculated that it will be about 1000 miles less with the likes of Bath City, Newport County, Worcester, Weymouth and Weston Super Mare no longer being in our league and Ebbsfleet, Dartford, Boreham Wood and Farnborough taking their place.

For Chelmsford City next year if the teams provisionally allocated to our league are confirmed the furthest away games in the league will be Dorchester, Havant & Waterlooville and Forest Green Rovers.

On one of the threads I read the other day someone said that the BSP in 2011/12 may be even more North orientated than in the forthcoming season with the possibility of 3 southern clubs being relegated

If this occurs it will make any "southern" team that is promoted having increased travelling costs. No doubt this would result in calls for further reorganisation of the Pyramid with regionalised BSP and changes to the lower feeder leagues to faciltate the change. Personally I do not believe it would be a good idea unless regionalisation also encompassed Football Leagues Disions 1 & 2 as any club with prententions to achieve ultimate promotion to the Football League would suffer a nasty culture shock if it was not regionalised.

On a personal level I am disappointed that Chelmsford City was not promoted and would willingly have suffered the additional travelling to visit grounds that I have not been to before.

Dave

Do you know we have got a 300 mile round trip to Lowestoft and we have to visit Bury St Edmunds as well and we are only in the Ryman Premier?

And for you: Eastleigh is a little further than H+W :D

Did you know that Lowestoft is the most easterly point in England? I always smile to myself when someone mentions that town, following a vsit I made there with work about 3 years ago. A collague and I were waiting in a carpark for a contractor to meet us for a Pre-start meeting for a boiler replacment project at a telephone exchange. The MD of the company arrived in his snazzy car and immacutely dressed with a bow tie and handkerchief neatly showing from his breast pocket He worked over to introduce himself to us. Just at the precise moment he was about to shake hands with me a large seagull dive bombed and landed a large deposit on his head. The carpark had a public convenience and he spent the next five minutes clearing himself up.

For next season we will be without our best player Ricky Holmes who has been given a "free" This has caused a great deal of angst among the supporters. It is not that we begrudge Ricky the opportunity to progress to a higher level, but commercially it does not make a great deal of sence to get rid of the club's crown jewel without receiving any recompence, even though he is still under 24 years old.

Good luck to Sutton next season You never know our paths may cross in either the FA cup or FA Trophy

Dave

Well done to Gateshead for staying up- on goal difference! I was a bit concerned that they were going to slip into the bottom three- "cutting it fine" springs to mind.

I as a Chelmsford City supporter was hoping that Gateshead stayed up and that we got promoted as I like visiiting that part of the country. my wifes aunt used to live in Newcastle and the family would have made a weekwend of it. Unfortunatley we wrere unsuccesful in the playoffs and therefore it is not to be a least for another season.
