I see a couple of Championship clubs have expressed an interested in Leeds' Jermaine Beckford. Please don't let one of them be Ipswich. My mate's a Leeds fan and says he's an arrogant, jumped-up t**t!! Mind you, Keane would soon sort him out.

Didn't know that.
Newcastle look like favourites to sign him. We've had enough of those.

Looks like Dean Whitehead has turned down a move to the Championship, and Hull have sneaked in to sign Daryl Murphy, so back to the drawing board for Keane! Not so fussed about Murphy, but Whitehead would have been a great signing.

Good riddance. It was time that badge kissing liability went. Cost us far too many goals for the past few seasons. Bolton's loss is our gain!

Never really rated Greening. Thought that Mowbray was far too loyal too him last season and picked certain players because of preferences, not for footballing reasons.

OMG scunny conceded a goal against Bottesford Town in there first pre-season friendly, and struggled to a 2-1 victory.
It's hard to see where there first win will come from in the championship :)

I think Bottesford Town were in the same league as Scarborough Athletic last season :)

Its a rather different and complex set-up at Ipswich, but Marcus Evans basically doesn't want anything back until we have been established in the Premiership for 5 years. I hope he is patient because he might have to wait a while yet!

derby4life has a point though. Big money chairmen don't always bring happiness. Be careful what you wish for...

I don't disagree, caution is very wise. However, what we do know is that without Marcus Evans, Ipswich Town wouldn't exist today.

I think that's probably pushing it a bit! Without Marcus Evans, Magilton would still be in charge (although we'd probably have finished higher than we did last season as he would have had any money to waste), Sheepshanks would still be chairman and we'd still be up to our eyes in debt.

I think where Evans is different to other chairman of a similar ilk is he has bought the club as a business, not to massage his ego or live-out some childhood fantasy. It might sound obvious, but most clubs aren't, are they? Ipswich also has enormous potential which other clubs lack, due to being located in a relatively prosperous part of the country, with a huge catchment area. Similar-sized clubs like Derby, Leicester, Forest etc don't have that advantage.

Great Asby Weather

Air frosts since the autumn - forty six

Lowest temperature: -8.6ΒΊ

Days with snow falling: nineteen

All views I express are either my own or someone else's, which I've copied because I think they might make me sound intelligent, but definitely not Paul's or Netweather's.

From what I was told OON (by a family friend and former board member), ITFC were within days of going bust altogether until Marcus Evans took over. Few people realise how close the club came to going completely bust.
