Tornado being reported about 40 miles southwest of team's location, but this one will track ESE ... cells to west and north of team also look potentially tornadic ... all chasers in this zone should be alert for acceleration and southeast swerving motion of any tornados or severe storms.

The storm mentioned above may be heading for Wichita and Winfield.

Another track to monitor is Newton to El Dorado-Augusta KS.

I don't doubt it, Paul. Looks as dark as ****, hence seeing the roadside streetlamps on earlier.

I was planning on an early night as I have loads to do this weekend but, like an interesting Channel 4 weather documentary... I may just stick around to see this one to the end.

Yes, that warning's for the area SW of Wichita towards Harper County, nothing that stands out on the normal radar, though GRLevel3 will probably pick up a couplet going on...

The Pampa cell is wandering ESE towards Wheeler, and looks like it's backbuilding.

I like all of the Mammatus clouds above them, as they drive underneath the anvil of the supercell.

If you're watching the live stream, in the last minute they just turned off US 77 (heading south) to point west for a view of the tornado warned cell in Sumner county. I think they are about 5 miles north of Winfield KS.

Looks like they are in an excellent spot to view any (possible) action.

Could be interesting.

(EDIT) The tornado watch has been dropped for that area right now, dont know if they are mid-update or if the storm has died?
