UK Outlook for Friday 9 Nov 2007 to Sunday 18 Nov 2007:
A much colder spell at the start of the period with strong north or northwest winds bringing showers to all parts along with some clear or sunny spells. The showers wintry over hills especially in the north where accumulations of snow are possible. The driest sunniest weather over inland central and southern parts. Through next week the generally unsettled weather is expected to continue with showers and some longer spells of rain. The heaviest rain towards the north and west where it will be windy at times with the driest and brightest conditions towards the south and southeast. Temperatures generally rising nearer to normal and becoming milder at times especially over the south whilst some colder interludes are likely to continue to affect the north.

UK Outlook for Monday 12 Nov 2007 to Wednesday 21 Nov 2007:
The weather during this period looks somewhat typical for the time of year. Low pressure will often be close to northern Scotland, and high pressure looks set to dominate to the southwest of the UK. The result is that winds will predominantly be from a west or northwesterly direction, bringing bands of rain, or some showers at times, occasionally wintry over northern mountains. Strong winds are likely at times, again, especially in the north. Drier and brighter spells are likely in all areas, though the greatest frequency of these is likely to be in the southwest, where the chance of strong winds is lower that in the north. Broadly speaking, temperatures are likely to be around normal, with a risk of frosts under clear skies at night.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 14 Nov 2007 to Friday 23 Nov 2007:
With high pressure to the north of the UK during the middle of next week, easterly winds may spread cold air westwards, affecting mainly eastern parts of the UK for a time. Most places should be dry, but some wintry showers may occur near to North Sea coasts. Thereafter, high pressure is expected to build northeastwards from the Atlantic, bringing a slow return to less cold conditions, though it may continue to feel chilly under generally cloudy or dull skies. Most places will remain dry in the south. Further north and east, the weather is expected to become unsettled and at times windy with rain or showers, some of these perhaps wintry at times in the north where gales are possible on occasions.

UK Outlook for Thursday 15 Nov 2007 to Saturday 24 Nov 2007:
There is still a risk of some cooler air wafting westwards from the Continent early in the period, affecting mainly eastern areas. However, the risk of this happening is decreasing. Otherwise, high pressure is expected to build northeastwards from the Atlantic, bringing a slow return to less cold conditions, though it may continue to feel chilly under generally cloudy or dull skies, especially in the southeast. Most places will remain dry in the south. Further north and east, the weather is expected to become unsettled and at times windy with rain or showers, some of these perhaps wintry at times in the north where gales are possible on occasions. Later, more unsettled and windy conditions may extend southwards to affect the whole of the UK.

UK Outlook for Friday 16 Nov 2007 to Sunday 25 Nov 2007:
High pressure centered away to the southwest is likely to bring the best weather across southwestern parts during this period. Bands of cloud and rain are expected to feed in from the northwest around this high pressure though, and these will bring more unsettled conditions to Scotland and perhaps N.Ireland, and early next week there may be some gales or severe gales over northern Scotland. Some outbreaks of rain will occasionally push further south over England and Wales as well. Eastern coasts are also likely to see some blustery showers in between areas of rain, whilst better conditions are likely in central and western parts. Some snow is likely over northern hills. Temperatures will be around or a little below normal.

UK Outlook for Saturday 17 Nov 2007 to Monday 26 Nov 2007:
A fairly mild start to the period is expected, but an area of frontal rain is likely to push southeastwards across the UK over the weekend with outbreaks of rain expected across all parts at some point, perhaps with some heavy bursts at times. Cooler conditions are then likely to follow in from the northwest bringing temperatures just below normal and also perhaps further outbreaks of rain, along with some strong winds in exposed parts. There is a good chance of that northwesterly airstream persisting next week. This would bring the driest and brightest conditions across southeastern parts of the UK and the most frequent showers or spells of rain in the northwest. However, there is still significant uncertainty over the forecast for next week at this stage.

UK Outlook for Sunday 18 Nov 2007 to Tuesday 27 Nov 2007:
Rather cold to start the period, with an area of rain likely to push southeastwards across the UK, perhaps heavy at times in the south and east. Conditions are then likely to become drier for a time early next week in the northwest but further rain is possible in the south and east, where temperatures will remain generally below normal with a strong, chilly northeast wind. All parts becoming drier with lighter winds for a couple of days, but with a risk of overnight and morning frost and fog. Increasing northwesterlies towards the end of next week will bring further periods of rain or showers, wintry over northern hills. Temperatures will fall again to below normal. Towards the end of the forecast period, winds will ease and become more westerly.

UK Outlook for Monday 19 Nov 2007 to Wednesday 28 Nov 2007:
Unsettled at first, with showers or rain periods, particularly in the east and south. Showers will be wintry over hill and mountains, and will continue into the middle of the week about coasts exposed to a generally northerly airstream. For most places, though, the weather will become dry, but with an increasing risk of overnight frost and fog. By the end of the week, rain will extend to most areas, possibly heavy in the north with the risk of gales. Temperatures throughout the week are likely to be below normal. A further band of rain is likely, wintry over higher ground in the north, early the following week with subsequent drier periods and occasional showers, with temperatures remaining generally below normal.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 20 Nov 2007 to Thursday 29 Nov 2007:
This period is set to start off with low pressure to the south of the UK, though with various troughs and fronts over the UK, bringing rain or showers to many, particularly England and Wales. Scotland may have somewhat drier conditions, with some night-time frosts. This more settled weather, brought about by an area of high pressure to the north of Scotland, may extend southwards across the UK for a time during the first week of the forecast. Thereafter there is some uncertainty over the exact detail but winds are expected to blow from between the north and west and so conditions could turn a little more unsettled. Whatever the outcome, temperatures throughout this period are likely to be on the low side, with occasional night-time frosts.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 21 Nov 2007 to Friday 30 Nov 2007:
Unsettled conditions are likely across England and Wales on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week with showers, some rain and just a few brighter spells. Scotland and Northern Ireland should be drier and brighter, northwest Scotland seeing the best weather, but still with a few showers. Thereafter there is a lot of uncertainty regarding the evolution of the weather but there is a suggestion of many places being dry for a time next weekend before more unsettled weather moves in later. Generally temperatures will be below normal and, with locally fresh to strong winds expected, it will feel chilly. Into the following week, some showers or longer spells of rain could well occur, especially across northern and western areas, with the best of the drier, brighter weather across eastern districts.

UK Outlook for Thursday 22 Nov 2007 to Saturday 1 Dec 2007:
The end of next week is expected to be rather cool and unsettled with showers for many, but a drier interlude seems likely as a ridge of high pressure nudges down from the northwest, bringing some sunny spells, but also some overnight frost. Later in the weekend and during the early part of the following week, very unsettled weather is likely to return. There will be rain or showers, some of these perhaps heavy, bringing snow to northern hills especially, and it may become very windy for a time with a risk of gales. It will continue cool. Thereafter, there are some indications that the weather should settle down with drier conditions developing. It should become rather less chilly, especially by day, but night frost should still be expected.

UK Outlook for Saturday 24 Nov 2007 to Monday 3 Dec 2007:
A return to unsettled conditions is expected for a time over the weekend with wet and windy weather sweeping south and east across all areas, the rain heavy at times, accompanied by strong southwest then westerly winds, perhaps gales for a time. Showers will follow across the north, heavy and squally, perhaps wintry. From Sunday, a quieter interlude is expected to develop as high pressure edges in from the north and west, although showers may be rather persistent in the southeast and, in the far northwest, further periods of wet and windy weather are likely. Daytime temperatures, rather below normal at first but becoming somewhat milder in most areas later. By night, a risk of frosts and fog patches developing, especially Sunday night onwards.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 27 Nov 2007 to Thursday 6 Dec 2007:
The period will start with temperatures near normal and some coastal showers, otherwise fine weather. A rainband will then move across the country from the northwest, to reach southeastern parts by late Wednesday. Some heavy and prolonged rain is likely with this band. Following the rainband the weather is likely to be rather unsettled, with rain and showers, more persistent in northern and western areas and possibly the east at times. It will be breezy with strong winds and perhaps gales in the north. By the end of next week, the weather will become generally drier. Beyond next week very unsettled weather is expected across the UK, the worst of the wind and rain in the north, the best of any drier spells in the south and east.
