You have a great manager but I think the team is too weak to get that high.
I think Sunderland will finish around mid table, good luck anyway
I hope its close between us it will be a great season.

A great manager? the man is a thug, he has done very well so far, lets leave greatness to those who have earned it!!

I predicted Sunderland to finish 11th this season; I don't expect miracles in their first season under the Quinn/Keane partnership but I certainly see them as the most likely of the promoted sides to stay up.

Quinn must be the best chaiman in the premiership but as to Roy Keane-he surpassed my expectations by a mile but I cannot disagree with anybody calling him a "thug" when it relates to his footballing days,as to his qualities as a manager well he certainly started well,I still remain to be convinced that he wont return to type should things go pear-shaped.

Shock prediction - Arsenal to drop out of the top 4

Especially if they replace Henry with Martins.

If the toon can keep hold of Owen and maybe buy a quality striker to replace Martins if he goes (Defoe/Nugent maybe) as well as a decent left back (Baines or Shorey), then I can see it being a straight fight between Spurs and the Toon for 4th place, now that we have a decent manager.

As for the Mackems, and their so called thug - The real hard man of football (Shearer) would have knocked him into the next decade if they hadn't been kept apart at St James Park in 2001.

thts it??..jeez..ive seen far worse on a pitch than what keane did 2 haarland...20 years ago tht kind of tackle(yes it was 2years in the making and full of intent) was common place...mind u if memory serves.. haarland wasnt exactly lily white in the whole episode!..keane was the type of player i used 2 luv playing against...and would have played in any team in the world at his peak...no nonsense hard tackling powerful...tremendous player!

I see Liverpool have signed Torres. Good player, but I don't see much progress for Liverpool next season. Or Arsenal. I think it'll be a 2 horse race between Man UTD and Chelsea again. Not sure which way that race will go.

I think 26.5million is an awful lot for a player that scored 14 goals for his club last season and has never tasted the premiership

Could make or break Benitez

He spent 26.5 million? Blimey. He had better not turn into another Shevchenko. Spaniards tend to do pretty well in the premier league though.

Torres is world class and you know he is, if he had signed for utd or chelski you would of been loving it....look at drogba he was pretty unproven and he is chelsea's main man now.

Superb buy for Liverpool just what they need a proper forward.

Not so fast Magpie, don't think Kia is going to be too happy about this:

Quote

The Premier League will block Carlos Tevez's expected move to Manchester United unless they are satisfied the transfer fee will go to West Ham.

If he does leave all money goes to West Ham, which leaves Kia out of pocket so to speak unless he makes an illegal third party deal with Man U as well, damn complicated this whole Tevez affair is, but now we are safe in theory West Ham are in a sort of win-win situation, we either get 20 milion or keep him for the rest of his contract!
