Hi guys I am going to start this thread as over the last 2 days there has been something of an outbreak with regards to Tornadoes and Funnel Clouds.

So a request for more Info on these events, think someone had some ITV Central Footage on one of these events, that sort of thing or local cuttings from Papers. You get the idea

1 # Glenfield (Leicestershire) 15.06.07

2 # West Cornwall (Possible Very wide wedge Tornado) 15.06.07

3 # Wirrall/Heswall/West kirby 15.06.07

4 # Herefordshire 15.06.07

5 # Dudley (W Mids) 15.06.07

6 # Sutton Maddock 15.06.07

7 # Hinckley (Leicestershire) 15.06.07

8 # Bourne (Lincs) 15.06.07

9 # St Ives (Cambs) 16.06.07

Hello Paul,

My wife Zoe and I saw the St. Ives funnel, which was actually to the North-East of St. Ives, and took the following pictures.

The first taken at 1656, shows the rapidly anti-cyclonic-rotating base of the storm.

The next was taken at 1707.

The next was taken at 1709.

The next was taken at 1709 also.

The next was taken at 1712.

And finally, this was taken at 1714.

this is the Bourne (lincs) Tornado.

Was this a confirmed tornado, by this photo it seems its a funnel is there any larger images of this?

sorry this is the biggest image i have but it made ground contact taking down trees which then damaged some cars. it was a confirmed tornado but this picture was taken at an early stage from a distance in my car, unfortunately all i had was my phone to take a pic rather than a camera.

Morning everyone,

The video clip of the St. Ives funnel yesterday is here:-

Turn the volume DOWN (due to my young son being somewhat upset!).

Very Best Wishes,

Bob.

Hello to users on Netweather.

here are some of the images I have of the West Cornwall event. I am still trying to pinpoint where touchdown may have occured oweing to the remoteness of this part of Cornwall.

Let me see if this is an easy thing to do .......

{edit - was not too bad for a first attempt at uploading to this site} - now, the images have not come out in order, in fact the image of the 'thick wedge' is the first image of the sequence and not the last. The image has been zoomed as was a couple of miles away to my west. Currently, I am waiting to see what reports (if any) come out of the woodwork over the next day or two. Either way, it was a fantastic weather day for may of us in the south of the country :) }

Some fantastic photos and video. That wedge tornado is evil looking - not something you expect on British soil.

As posted in another topic - but obviously very relevant to his thread.

A funnel cloud on the 15th June about 7 or 8 miles NE of Hinkley in Leicestershire. It formed on the eastern edge of what was to very soon become an MCS and track north. Also noteworthy is how dark the clouds became. I was told that back in Derby it was so dark it felt like dusk at 4pm in the afternoon!
