Well Aberdeen bottle it again when the big incentive is dangled. We could have potentially gone second with a good win tonight but ended up up with a last gasp draw. Despite this inept performance, we certainly played better than ICT in a match that was made difficult by the stiff breeze which often funnels through the exposed stadium. Good to see Steve Lovell back - grabbed the equalizer and was unlucky to see his overhead kick come back off the bar just a few minutes earlier.

Don't get too excited, it was only Rangers.

Nah, seriously, a great result for St Johnstone, I think it was the 2nd goal which was a cracker (?). A thoroughly deserved result.

Aberdeen up to the dizzy heights of 2nd now. Brings back momories of the late eighties early nineties when Aberdeen and Rangers used to contest every trophy and Celtic were lucky to achive mid table status B) Just need a nice little draw between Glasgow Rangers and Edinburgh Rangers tomorrow to cement our position in 2nd. ;)

Bu**er! Still 3rd is pretty respectable for Aberdeen these days! Now all they need to do is get a decent striker in the transfer window.

Hopefully Celtic and Rangers will do well enough in Europe this year to help us on our way to three Champions' League places in years to come. Then at least Rangers might qualify for the Champions' League...it's our only hope.

At least if Celtic reach the last eight or better we can say, oh well, what a team. No wonder the rest of the teams are piDoh a dumb swear filter got the better of me!

Well Aberdeen scrape another victory yesterday. We played decent first half then got battered by Falkirk in the second, we would've been lucky to get a draw! Very impressed by Gow, Aberdeen should go for him in January if we can afford him. Yet another paltry attendance - 10,500. The fact is yesterday's game wasn't worth the £21 I paid at the gate - the team needs to give more at home if they want to catch up on Hearts and Hibs' gates. Still, it's a win which maintains our Champions League aspirations!  Imagine Barcelona coming to Pittodrie!

They'd need a big ship to get the whole city up there.

Seriously, it's starting to look as if Rangers and Aberdeen could be going head to head for second, that should at least get the Aberdeen faithful behind the team. I didn't realise their crowds had slipped so low when the team are doing quite well in the league, regardless of performances.

The team will only be able to give more if people like Milne put their hands in their pooches and put some money into the team. I detest Stewart Milne. One of Scotlands richest men who enjoys the kudos of being chairman of a well known team without paying the price of dipping into his pockets. Aberdeen will never move forward until Milne and his cronies are gone. An estimated fortune of some £240 million and the best Milne can do is a £2 million loan, pathetic. And yet, look around Aberdeen and nearby towns and what do you see? Stewart Milne Homes going up by the score. Time we had a determined campaign to get him and his do-nothing board out.

At least we at Ibrox have David Murray. I don't care what anyone says, he has bailed Rangers out time and time again. What was the last effort, £50million on the "shares issue". Can't be bad.

As for your own Mr Milne, what's the point in having all that money and not splashing some on the football team? Especially now they are well and truely in the hunt for a Champions' League place, the holy grail of football surely?? Aberdeen probably only need to retain the squad they have, sign a couple of decent (perhaps veteran) players in the transfer window, and they could well be in the CL prelim rounds next August. As Zero said earlier, imagine Barcelona at Pittodrie. Or Man U, or Real Madrid, AC Milan, whoever.....

What a result for Aberdeen today, possibly the biggest win for 15 years, give or take a few exceptions. Was listening to the game on radio and was bouncing up and down in my Living room when the goal went in - i've not celebrated a goal like that for years! Rangers next week, could be an unthinkable 6 point lead over Rangers going into Christmas!

Nothing like a challenge!! I don't fancy our chances against Celtic tomorrow and it could well be 6 points by Xmas. :nonono:

As for celebrating goals, I take it you didn't listen to Scotland v France, or do you not support the national side (or aren't Scottish??). :unknw:

Hi Robbie, no I am Scottish and celebrated Caldwell's goal greatly, however I support Aberdeen more than I support Scotland. I'm sure you guys will evetually overtake us in second place but we're enjoying this while it lasts!

Fair enough Zero, I support Rangers but prefer Scotland, if that makes sense. Don't be so downbeat about 2nd place, it is well within Aberdeen's grasp. Hopefully the fans will respond to your team's league position!

It's certainly good to see a rejuvinated Aberdeen; especially after the Queens Park comedy!

Seriously, about time the 2nd, 3rd or 4th placed teams in the SPL challenged each other for a change - almost makes the "sacred", "hallowed" Premiership seem boring :nonono:

PS, Rangers 0 v Celtic 0, tomorrow.........

.......maybe :unknw:
