Wasn't optimistic today but how we didn't win is beyond me, even Sky said it was a good game.

I concur OON! Ipswich fully deserved the 3 points last night against QPR although I have to say the penalty decision looked dubious, but uptil then Ipswich had more opportunities to score. Infact I don't think the Ipswich squad is that bad and considering the age of the squad and that Garvan and Westlake were both not playing I think there might be some light at the end of the tunnel.
The performances of Clarke, Williams and Bruce were all good, and before this I was starting to worry if Ipswich might have a battle on their hands to stave off relegation but after seeing the game I should think they'll be ok and it's just a case of getting some consistancy going and possibly a brighter future!
Clarke was outstanding and I thought we were superb. I'm sure we won't play that well each week, and QPR weren't great, but there was more to like in that performance than I've seen since Bent, Kuqi etc left.

Great Asby Weather

Air frosts since the autumn - forty six

Lowest temperature: -8.6º

Days with snow falling: nineteen

All views I express are either my own or someone else's, which I've copied because I think they might make me sound intelligent, but definitely not Paul's or Netweather's.

I'm going to see Ipswich play next week, I will be lending them my support as they do battle with Southampton!!

I'd like to wish Kevin McLeod the best of luck with his new club Colchester United, a nice guy with a lot of skill, if he can use it to his full potential, he can do well in the Championship.

Quite good results today for both Ipswich and Southend, although Birmingham were down to 10 men and we should have held on to have 4 on the trot!
Ipswich now in 10th spot and I think Southend now in 16th.

If that were the case, I'd be celebrating a 0-0 home draw against the mighty Colchester Utd!!

The mighty Town starting to find some consistancy now with a 3-1 over Sunderland, up to 8th now I believe and the Premiership is now starting to beckon! nobody can stop us now!

You jest I think, but we've won 4 out of the last six, including beating Southampton (albeit luckily) and Sunderland, and being the better team in the draw against Birmingham. Perhaps the play-offs are a possibility.

Well Leicester could be joining us in league one at this rate, they just sound like us 2 years ago.I think they may have to get rid of Rob Kelly or demote him back to assistant manager.

See Ipswich were back to the their usual best last night, Colchester showed far more passion and grit in wanting to win the game, and one point I thought I was watching Town in a play-off!
Some of the players I would permantly leave out of the team regardless of the injury status i.e. Naylor, Macken, Sito (he can't defend), Currie (although he has a good cross), Wilnis, Walton.
Embarrassing when I have to go back to work on Monday.

We weren't that bad! Second half we looked ok. I just think Colchester are far better than most people imagined they would be. Don't forget, Macken scored a goal.

You won't win the Championship Cardiff are far more consistent!, as I mentioned in an earlier post Ipswich simply are not a consistent team (either they go on a run of losing or winning) they either play well enough to beat mediocre teams like Sunderland or Derby and on the other hand play pathetic against teams which are no better as per Colchester and the hammering yesterday by the baggies will no doubt be followed by further loses in the next week or so. There are no doubt players in the Ipswich team whose time has run their cause.

Oh dear oh dear. Still...I remember seeing us beat them 7-0 back in the late 70s, so no gloating baggie fans

I was at that game!, Laurie Cunningham, Brendon Batson and Cryril Regis - an eye opener for us country boys. Ipswich played them off the park, those were the days!

Hi Timmy
Yes i remember those games very well [ must admit that i think those years were Ipswichs best years]
also remember the semi final when we lost to you as well , John wile head cut open ,, still played through the remainder of the game
yes , laurie cunningham, brendan batson, and big cyrille ,again i must admit those late 70`s early 80s were our best years too ..
